Recognize this symbol?

Could someone please tell me what the following symbol is? Means? Is used for? Etc.? It seems to appear randomly on Word documents I'm working on then disappears. I'm asking about the Blue arrow, not the D below it. Thanks

@Glen-Provost What type of computer are you using?

I have never seen it when working with Word running under Windows 10 and 11 and all prior versions of Windows.
