Cant minimize Save As panel
I'm using Microsoft 365 Word in Windows 10 Home. Somehow, my Save As panel has become maximized, and I can't figure out how to minimize it again. It takes up the whole screen, so I can't see the name I'm trying to use to name the file I'm saving. It won't move up or down if I click and hold the top bar; there's no option to minimize in the upper right corner; if I right-click on the top bar I get an option to maximize, not minimize; and although there are "grab" icons on the sides and corners, they don't work to resize the window at all. What am I missing? This is driving me nuts. Thanks.ewormuthNov 26, 2024Copper Contributor3.2KViews1like3Commentscontext menu in Word 2016
see my question from October 3, 2024 I still can't solve the problem. Can someone help me? I have a problem with the context menu in word 2016. When I select the text and click the right mouse button, the context menu opens, while the first, separate item "search in the menus" (picture 1.) appears to me, while behind it is a large space. If I want to find other items in the popup window, I have to start scrolling in it (Figure 2.). Only after the window is fully rolled do I see other items of the pop-up window (Figure 3.). It's interesting that this doesn't happen when you click on the image, it only shows up incorrectly when you click on the highlighted text. It's quite frustrating and it's weighing on me. It was working fine until recently and just recently it changed arbitrarily. I am asking for advice on how to correct this deficiency. Thank you.jskribereNov 26, 2024Copper Contributor99Views0likes11CommentsRead Aloud on Mac vs. Read Aloud on iPad
This should be simple, but it's proving not to be. I recently discovered that the Read Aloud voice on my iPad is worlds better than the Read Aloud voices available on my Mac. I've downloaded the two "Premium" voices on the Mac, Ava and Zoe, and neither come close to the "female" voice on the iPad, which does a truly remarkable job of reading text out loud. Does anyone know how to access that same female voice that's on the iPad on the Mac?rsinsheimerNov 26, 2024Copper Contributor160Views1like3CommentsNewest Office365 word update damages tables
In newest Office365 Word table (one column) in table (many columns) with fixed width does not work. It works as "Adjust by content" even if I enforce fixed width. If document was correct, and you open with a new Word and save it - document becomes damaged. If you open with old word - it opens and saves as expected. Problem is that all Office365 became updated this week, and we can not fid how to revert to old version. This is critical issue - all words templates becomes damaged after saving. Is there any workaround to fix this issue?mangruNov 21, 2024Copper Contributor519Views3likes12CommentsWord - 2 columns several sections
Hi, I have a document that has a page being split into three parts but each part has 2 columns layout design. The layout looks like below screenshot. Everything is in 1 page. Should I be using column breaks or section breaks continuous?JennyT2070Nov 21, 2024Copper Contributor20Views0likes3CommentsProblem with formatting/columns/error code that won't go away
I'm getting this when I try to squeeze in my margins. "Increasing left margin causes first column to become too narrow in some sections having unevenly spaced columns." I've tried all the tricks I found online and it's not working. This is a 94 page document with LOTS of indents and tabs and tables and such. Several people submitted their sections to this Frankenstein of a Word doc that I now need to format correctly. Since I'm not terribly familiar with Word but know InDesign, I'm trying to import it there, BUT, the doc doesn't like it when I try to make it fit the margins I have set. I have to pull them in more on left and right for printing purposes. If I try to import using the new margins, it only imports like 10 pages and not the rest. If I let it import using the margins in the Word doc, it flows in all the pages, but then I have the problem of trying to increase those margins in InDesign. If I change the margins AFTER importing, all my pages disappear except the first 10 or so. My thought is that if I can fix the margins in Word to the NEW margins I need, it will import successfully. Can anyone help with this? I HAVE to get this project done soon!LMcIntireNov 20, 2024Copper Contributor18KViews0likes13CommentsHow to fix "upload pending" error message in Microsoft word
I dealt with this frustrating issue for over a year, but here's how you can fix it. Example image: How to fix: 1. Make sure Finder is open and all office apps are closed, including Microsoft Word. 2. Click on "GO" in the top bar. 3. Once the drop down menu descends, hold down the OPTION key on your keyboard. You'll see that a folder called "LIBRARY" appears. Click on "LIBRARY". 4. Once inside"LIBRARY", click on a folder called "CONTAINERS." 5. Scroll down until you find a folder called "com.microsoft.Word". 6. Once you've found it, delete "com.microsoft.Word" off your computer. 7. Now, reopen Microsoft Word, and make sure the upload pending error message is gone. It should be, and you should now be able to delete the file if you so choose. Also, if you're experiencing this problem with Excel and/or Powerpoint, you can probably fix it the same way. You'd just have to delete "com.microsoft.Excel" and/or "com.microsoft.Powerpoint" respectively, instead of"com.microsoft.Word". All the steps leading up to that would remain the same. I really hope this helps other people who are dealing with this problem. And if for some reason it doesn't work for you, reach out to Microsoft support while signed into your Microsoft account and get into a chat room. Chatting with a specialist was the only reason I was able to figure this out in the first place.jcirroneNov 19, 2024Copper Contributor28KViews0likes1Commenttyping in capital letters only
Help. When updating my resume, as of a few days ago, im able to type in capital letters only ?CanzamanNov 15, 2024Copper Contributor5.4KViews1like2CommentsHow do I make the cursor visible while typing in word
Hi there, I am using office 365, word version 2310. I just noticed when I begin typing, even one letter, my cursor disappears immediately, and I can only get it back by moving my mouse or press Ctrl. Previously, I think I could see my cursor while typing. Would it be possible to make my crusor visible while typing? I've tried the operations below: 1. turning on/off the 'smart cursoring'. 2. activate/unactivate 'hide pointer while typing' in 'pointer options'. 3. uninstall and reinstall office 365, repair/reset office 365. 4. turning off the HDR settings. 5. changing the display scale in 'display settings'. 6. lauching word in a safe mode. 7. changing the regional settings. None of them works. The funny thing is, when I am typing in Chinese characters, my cursor does not disappear at all, but even if I type one single English letter, the cursor disappears immediately. Additionally, I found the same behaviour when typing in notepad of windows. I know it might be a FEATURE to hide my cursor while typing, but is there any possible solution that I can make my cursor visible while typing? I just want to see my cursor. \ ThanksXWswanseaNov 14, 2024Copper Contributor90KViews0likes8CommentsError with cross references in track changes when exporting to PDF
I have a document with cross-references and the track changes activated. When I export it to PDF it marks all cross references as changed, when they have not been changed. I have attached two images of an example of the error. The first one is the document before exporting it and the second one after. It can see that, despite not having made any changes, cross-references are marked. ¿Does anyone know how can I fix this issue? Thank youanderubiernaNov 13, 2024Copper Contributor77Views0likes1Comment
