Error in Working with Mailing Function
Following the recent update to Microsoft Word, the Mailing Function has become unresponsive. When attempting to address data from an existing Excel file, the function fails to execute. Below are screenshots illustrating this malfunction.Kourosh4169Oct 20, 2025Occasional Reader6Views0likes0CommentsAutocorrect "Replace text as you type" no longer working in comments
I'm a college English professor. I've been using MS Word's Reviewing features for years (decades?) to offer feedback on student essays. I mainly make bubble comments in the margins of the document (CMD-OPT-A or Insert > Comment). Until recently, my Autocorrect "Replace text as you type" feature was working in the comments (my fumbly fingers mistype things like "differnet" and I've even added some shortcuts like "dangmod" to "dangling modifier"). But as of maybe a few months ago, my comments no longer autocorrect. I haven't changed any settings, and the function works in the body text of the document. I have a 2023 Macbook Pro running Sequoia 15.7.1, and I'm using MS Word for Mac Version 16.101.3. Anybody have the solution for this? I've spent years training myself to use MS Word's Reviewing so I can be very efficient with my time (I know all the keyboard shortcuts, etc.), but if autocorrect no longer works, I'll probably just switch to Google Docs or something. Thanks for any help you can give.LosmaddenOct 18, 2025Copper Contributor47Views0likes3CommentsI cannot select continuous words by dragging pointers
A week ago, I could not select words or sentences by dragging pointers. What I can do: double-click a word and it can be selected. Or I triple-click and I can select a whole paragraph. But I cannot exactly select what I want. Can any supporters help me solve the problem?scao010Oct 18, 2025Copper Contributor27Views0likes2CommentsHow do I Stop Word Switching to Multiple Pages View
I have a high resolution wide screen monitor. Every time I open a Word document in full screen, it switches to the Multiple Pages view (typically 2 pages, side by side). I hate this view! I can't read 2 pages at a time. I always want a single page view. Does anyone know if there is a way to stop Word changing to this view? I am using Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2202 Build 16.0.14931.20128) 64-bit67KViews4likes47CommentsDrop down menu linked to an Excel file
Hi! I would like to populate Word drop down menu to data stored in Excel spreadsheets. I found a post (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5448059/drop-down-menu-linked-to-a-file) in https://learn.microsoft.com showing how to get it done, but I'm new to VBA and need a more detailed explanation. The last line in that post reads, "For a step-by-step guide, you can check out this tutorial on linking Excel drop-down lists to Word.", but no link to that step-by-step guide is provided. Please, do you know where that guide, or any other helpful manual, is available? Thanks!RICARDO JULIO RODRIGUEZ FERNANDEZOct 18, 2025Copper Contributor54Views0likes4Comments- Jamese1045Oct 17, 2025Copper Contributor32Views0likes1Comment

Hi, I am a longtime user of Word. I have just transferred to a new and stronger laptop; however, when trying to group more than 5 items Word stops responding and sometimes crashes. I disabled all add-ons, hoping it would help. Any ideas? I usually insert the figure in a table and just group the callouts and text boxes with arrows.Slgc173Oct 15, 2025Copper Contributor41Views0likes5CommentsWord document printing issue
I am unable to print certain pages in a long, highly formatted Word document while other pages print fine. I am not getting any error messages, just nothing showing up in the print queu. I tried to copy the content into a blank Word worksheet but it doesn't fix the issue. I've spoken to both Level 1 and Level 2 technicians at MS and the best suggestions they can offer is to paste the entire document into a new file with basic text format and then reformat everything from scratch. In addition to being a very cumbersome workaround, there is no guarantee that the file won't print again after doing that. Plus, this "solution" doesn't address the underlying issue if/when this occurs again with a different file. Anybody have similar issues and/or suggestions?mstyleOct 14, 2025Copper Contributor34Views0likes1Comment
