Shortcuts key don't work on Word, and the commands don't exist in keyboard shortcuts "customize"
I cannot use control+c, control+v, control+z, control+y, control+x or control+a on Word on my new computer. when checking Customize shortcut keys in options->customize ribbon, These keys are not assigned to any command, and the relevant commands (undo, redo, copy, paste etc.) do not appear at all, not inder "all commands" and not anywhere else. They do appear in the customize ribbon.
I tried resetting the customize keyboard, and it didn't help.
Using copy as an example, Control+C should be assigned to EditCopy by default (see the screen shot below). In the Customize Keyboard dialog box (File > Options > Customize Ribbon > Customize), go to the "All Commands" category and then locate the command in the list at the far right of the dialog box.
If the shortcut isn't listed, you can click in the "Press new shortcut key" field and hold Ctrl while pressing C. You should then be able to click Assign at the bottom of the dialog. Make sure that "Save changes in" is set to "Normal.dotm."

Thank you for the response!
As I mentioned, my problem was finding the right commands in the list, but seeing the "edit" at the beginning of EditCopy that you gave as an example helped me find most of them, including EditSelectAll. For control+S I found FileSave. I'm still not sure why they weren't assigned, but that's not a problem anymore. Thanks!

For future use, you can always try safe mode. This is a diagnostic only available for the Wiyndows desktop application. Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC - Microsoft Office
You can save shortcuts in a separate Global Template (https://www.addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm#Global). See also Assigning Keyboard Shortcuts in Microsoft Word 2007-2024 (365).
