Modern sites - news webpart categories

I think this has been asked before, but I could not find any solutions. 

I'd like  the news webpart only to show specific categories. If possible using an out-of-the-box solution. 

If this is not possible, i'd really like to read any suggestions for this.

News WebPart already allows you to add filters so only thing you have to do is to add a Category column to your Site Pages library so you can use it as a filter

Hmm, filter seems to work. When i add a filter i only see news posts of the category which i want to see. But when i add a new post the filter seems to be gone, and i see all posts. Looks like the webpart does not 'save' the filter.

@Juan Carlos González Martín The same for Sharepoint on-premise ?

I didn't see any filter, not even about the Title one present in SP-o365
