Hi, I only received the alert about Stream Classic last week. I always thought it was part of the O365 suite and not related to SharePoint. Now it has been renamed Stream (SharePoint Online)
My query is now that the deadline has passed, is there anyway to retrieve video uploads from the classic version?

So, I recently found out about the transition from Stream Classic to Stream (SharePoint Online), and I'm realizing that I missed the deadline to migrate my video uploads. Initially, I didn't realize that Stream Classic was a separate entity from SharePoint and assumed it was part of the Office 365 suite.
Now that the deadline has passed, I'm wondering if there's any way to retrieve my video uploads from the classic version. Unfortunately, it seems that once the deadline has elapsed, the migration process might not be available anymore. It's frustrating to realize this now, but it's a valuable lesson for future software updates and transitions.
I'll have to explore other options for accessing and managing my video content, perhaps by directly accessing the Streaming (SharePoint Online) platform and uploading any necessary videos there. It's definitely a setback, but I'll make sure to stay more informed about platform changes and deadlines moving forward.

Microsoft has been holding pretty steady about the April 15, 2024 retirement date for Stream Classic.
Now that it has passed, if your tenant admin(s) haven't informed you about their migration of data, then the data is most likely inaccessible or gone. But I would suggest two approaches you might want to try. First, reach out to your internal IT support teams and see if they are aware of any migrations that were conducted for Stream Classic to SharePoint Online. If they are not aware at all, it may still be worth taking a look at what video content you can find from the New Stream experience, using search if necessary. I say that because if they did use the migration tool, a lot of content may have gone from Stream Classic right into the OneDrive of the owner of the content.
(Content that was migrated with the Microsoft Stream Migration Tool is often stored in a folder called exactly "Stream Migrated Videos," so that might give you another avenue by which to try hunting for data.)
