We're trying to build up a new architecture in SharePoint and want to leverage all the new tools and possibilities that come with SharePoint Online modern sites.
In the past, we've used some content types, but were nowhere consistent so that we could make use of consistent content types throughout all departments and sites we have.
With the new architecture we intend to still use content types, but I've read some posts and have been influences by people around me that, today, it might not be best practice to really go for content types anymore. Reason being is that "it doesn't work like that" - people are not really using it. Microsoft also admitted that people don't like tagging/metadata.
I still think content types are the right way to go to really leverage the power of SharePoint search, but I was wondering what your opinion is? Is the majority moving away from content types?
