Looking at our Active Files by Users in OneDrive for Business, I noticed that we have a number of users with more active files then they have files. I'm trying to make sense of how that is possible. In talking with a few, it appears we've refreshed their devices recently. Without deleting massive amounts of files on their machines, it would appear that the process of syncing files on multiple devices double counts files.
Can anyone confirm that for me? How else could a user have more active files in OneDrive than they have files?

Considering that each "sync" action generates an event in the audit logs, I wouldn't be surprised if the same is counted towards this report. Although they do seem to be generating only a single entry per file, unlike the audit logs.
@Stephen Rose @Anne Michels might know who to ask for a proper answer 🙂
