Use Microsoft Teams to call into Zoom or Webex Meetings

Dear community, as Skype for Business will be replaced by Teams I was wondering how I can video call into Zoom / Webex / BlueJeans / StarLeaf meetings?

Currently I can dial into those meetings by using xxxxxxxxx@lync.webex.com or similar SIP addresses. However, this is not possible with Teams. How will this work in future?

I tried all the third party conference bridge providers, which are recommended by Microsoft, however they tell me that there is no solution for this problem. They are only there such that, the third parties can call into Teams meetings.

This is especially important in regard to Teams rooms systems and Surface Hubs. Any advice is appreciated!

@Christophe Palaniyandy Microsoft have announced "Join Cisco Webex meetings from Teams Rooms with direct guest join" in the latest release of the MTR software.

Nothing announced for Zoom yet though!

@Murray Walker that is very encouraging news, it would seem like we are not far off from the Zoom "direct guest join" functionality with this release. 

I forwarded on the announcement post to my Zoom representative, and she indicated that it was still in development - no timeline given. I need to wait until Teams Rooms has this functionality before switching from Zoom Rooms, so anxiously awaiting this release.

@Kiril Thanks for raising the question, we're in the same position although starting from scratch equipping new meeting rooms.  We had a long call with Poly today to go through the options and got completely baffled!  Being fully Microsoft 365 focussed, we'd prefer to go native MTR over InterOp, but often have calls with clients / partners using Zoom / BlueJeans / other so can't afford to not be able to join their calls.

If we had MTR in a meeting room, would we not be able to join a BlueJeans call setup by another organisation at all, or would it just be a poor experience?  Would it be possible to connect to the MTR equipment, join the call on someone's laptop browser and have them present through the equipment?

I'd really appreciate any advice anyone can provide as our current setup is far from ideal!

@Oz Oscroft  As far as I know, WebEx is being rolled out, so you can join WebEx meetings, which have invited your room. Other than that, no interop is available as of now (as far as I know).

@Oz Oscroft You would need to look at a Cloud Video Interop provider to get your MTRs to talk to Zoom and/or BlueJeans at this time.

Thanks @Murray Walker .  I think we're going to head down the Team room route anyway as it's ultimately where we want to be (and seemingly a lot cheaper than many of the InterOp solutions).  Hoping MS solve the Zoom issue soon, but it sounds like there's ways and means of working around the issue for now.

Which i would infer means that the following parameter is available in the latest version's SkypeSettings.xml file. Could someone with MTR please verify?

We just deployed our first MTR and it actually is a lot easier to allow Zoom / Webex through either the TAP interface or via the Teams Admin Center where you can access the device settings.  Once you enable access to Zoom and/or Webex invites AND allow external invites to be processed by the room's exchange mailbox, any invite forwarded to the room shows up as a Join button.  Note that forwarding the invite email didn't work.  I had to create a calendar entry first on my PC and then forward that invite to our MTR address.  It showed up within seconds.

@rheise thanks for checking in on this! Are you part of a TAP program, or is this generally available? I'm configured Targeted Release. I *should* be able to check this quickly but since our office is closed, no access to hardware in order to reconfigure.

Sorry to Drag this up again but ultimately I don't think the question has been answered.

What we know:

• Teams Room Systems currently have support to Join Webex and Zoom meetings.
• This feature is enabled by the use of Skype for Business
• Converting to Teams Only Mode will break this feature
• You can use an interop solution or CVI to enable stakeholders using other technologies to join your Teams Meetings?

July 2021 is the end of life date for skype for business so this feature will no longer function at all.

Will there be a Teams solution for this?

Will the teams room systems use the Web interface of these solutions to enable this feature?

We are a MS Teams shop.  I too need a simple solution (prefer the one touch Join button) to join, Teams, Zoom, WebEx, Google, BlueJeans, etc.

I started talking to Poly about a "RealConnect license" but it sounds like you would have to pay Poly each year and then in addition pay for a Zoom Room license, WebEx Room, etc.  Even though we are not hosting the Zoom or WebEx meetings, but because the meeting is utilizing the conference room devices to join a Zoom or WebEx meeting you need to pay for those licenses as well.

Doesn't every business need a solution like this nowadays?
