OneNote Notebook upload to Teams

Copper Contributor

Everyone in our group has their own OneNote notebook.  When they leave our group, we are trying to download their notebook so everyone in the rest of the group can access it.
(1) Is it possible to download an entire notebook (instead of page by page) using Microsoft OneNote on a Mac?
(2) Is there a way to upload that downloaded notebook to Teams? Or upload a link to the notebook, or some other way of being able to click on and access the notebook through Teams?
I know a new tab can be created in Teams to upload a Onenote notebook but this would require many many tabs since each tab represents only one notebook.  Is there a way to consolidate OneNote notebooks all into one tab? Or a way to upload the notebook / link to it from within a folder in a specific tab (i.e. if we had a folder for each person in the group and could put the notebook there)?
Thanks!

Here for the export and import

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/export-and-import-onenote-notebooks-a4b60da5-8f33-464e-b1...

Here for the share

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/share-a-page-of-notes-or-an-entire-notebook-from-onenote-...

However, since this is an issue there are a few ways to remove that issue

1.) Use SharePoint, you'll probably even be able to upload that notebook to SharePoint to use https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2012/07/26/onenote-on-sharepoint-a-quick-guide-fo...
2.) Use the Wiki app

If you upload the notebooks into SharePoint you may be able to pull them back into teams via multiple OneNote tabs.

It would need some playing around. However, with the articles above you should be able to work it out. Hope that answers your question

Hi Christopher,

For the export/import...clicking on the notebooks does not yield an export option. I am using a Mac and tried right-clicking with my mouse, Command button plus clicking, control button plus clicking as well as multiple browsers (Safari, Firefox) but was unable to get the export option to appear.

I also cannot log in to the OneNote Notebook Importer link using the same credentials I have for logging into Microsoft OneNote.

The "sharing" link you sent me was for Windows 10 (I'm using a Mac).

Any help?  Thanks!

From,

Peter

Hi, are you using Office/Microsoft 365 for Business as I have tested these and they all seem to work out.

Here is the share article for mac

Hi Christopher,

It looks like my Microsoft account is for students and not business. I work at a University so I guess this makes sense.

Are these tools only available to those with a Business account?

They should be available via all versions. I would raise with your IT administrator and get them to check. Typically, Microsoft 365 for education is similar to the version for business, especially in terms of moving files around. I may be wrong - given that I typically work with the business version, however I cannot - and would not - ask to see screenshots or assist you on a remote call. Provide the links above to your IT admin (which helps you to export and share) and have them assist you with checking the version.

Check this article too if there doesn't appear to be an export option as it will run through some methods:
