Tenant Storage?

Steel Contributor

When looking at the SharePoint Admin center (on Office 365)  there is a tentat storage limit of 1.7 TB. Is this the limit for all Office 365 features? (Groups, One Drive for Business, Video). There is so much talk about a TB per user on One Drive and per site collection limits I was surprised to see such a low number.

I know that number includes SharePoint and O365 Video (and I am pretty sure also O365 Groups)

OneDrive for Business is NOT included in that number.

Tenant storage:1 TB + .5 GB per subscribed user + additional storage purchased.

Overview of SharePoint Online software boundaries and limits: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/SharePoint-Online-software-boundaries-and-limits-8f34ff47-b...

It states for groups: Group files storage has the same storage and upload limits as a site collection storage limit above. (1TB)

@Brent Ellis is correct, the storage limit in your case applies to SPO, Groups and Office 365 Video

Great, thank you.

Seems a bit odd that the entire tenat is limited to 1 TB + the per user .5 GB while One Drive gives you 1 TB per user. I guess the message is store it on One Drive! :)

Definitely not that.  Lots of resources out there on this, but OneDrive is not a good location for team/project/initiative based document storage.

I think in the future the storage quotas will change for the other applications. You can buy now extra per site collection till 5 tb

I hope so, Current pricing makes buying extra storage very prohibitive. $.19 per gig per mos.. makes 50 TB of storage in SPO over $100k a year!

Hi

Microsoft is increasing Storage limit up to 25TB

https://blogs.office.com/2016/08/31/new-capabilities-in-sharepoint-online-team-sites-including-integ...

Storage is for: SPO, VideoPortal, O365 Groups

OneDrive have own dedicated storage 1TB per user

@Martin Kameniar That is an increase to the storage LIMIT only. Not the Allotted storage. You still have to buy up to get extra storage. 1tb, + 500MB per user is still the allotted storage.
