problems linking excel into word:

i'm trying to link a spreadsheet into word on my works laptop (i've done it may times successfully on my home pc) all im getting is the location of the spreadsheet showing in word eg {link excel sheet.12"C:\\users lt etc etc 

why is it not showing the chart?

@linda260462 You need to select the chart and past same to into word. I think you are pasting the file directory into word file.
