Excel Table Total

Copper Contributor

Hi. I am trying to design a Table for how much I spend on Groceries in a year, with a running Total at the top of the Table. It would not have a fixed number of rows as I don't know how often I would go to the shops. Therefore I want to put a running total at the top of table and use Freeze Panes to keep it visible.

Then as the weeks go by and more items are added to the bottom of the table the total is always visible at the top.

@John_McClean Perhaps like attached. The structured table expands automatically and the SUM function at the top is linked to the entire Amount column of the table.

@John_McClean

Why create something new if it already exists!

here are some examples from Microsoft.
