i am looking for 2 options for conditional formatting

1. Let's say you want to format a row in the range from row 2 to row 50 if the cell in column B equals 37.

  • Select row 2 to 50. The active cell in the selection should be in row 2.
  • On the Home tab of the ribbon, select Conditional Formatting > New Rule...
  • Select 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format'.
  • Enter the formula   =$B2=37
  • The $ before the column letter B is essential - it ensures that the formatting in all columns depends on column B.
  • Click Format...
  • Activate the Fill tab.
  • Select a color.
  • Click OK, then click OK again.

2. Can you explain what you mean by "its hierarchy"?

Tnx for your reply.
By hirarchy i ment a child and parent row when using the INDENT

I don't know how to use that in conditional formatting, sorry.
