Conditional IF equation issues

Copper Contributor

Hi!

I am trying to write an IF equation and have no idea what I am doing wrong. I would like my equation to say If C3 - Yes, Buy cupcakes or IF C3=No, buy brownies. This is what I thought the equation should look like but I keep getting the @NAME? error:

=IF(C3=Yes,"Buy cupcakes",IF(C3=No,"Buy brownies"))

What am I doing wrong?

Solution
Literal text such as "Yes" and "No" must be enclosed in double quotes or Excel will think it's the name of a function or named item.
