Chart reading dates incorrectly in Excel

Copper Contributor

Hello Community Members, the chart in Excel (Office 365) shows the date as January instead of March even though I've checked the regional date and time settings from the control panel.

I've also checked the formatting in Excel itself.

I've also tried formatting the axis manually but that didn't work

Please help me resolve this issue.

Below is the screenshot attached of the issue.

@suhitm

Could you attach a small sample workbook demonstrating the problem (without sensitive data), or if that is not possible, make it available through OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or similar?

Do you want a screen recording of this? Please reply so that I get to know if you need one in order to resolve the issue.

@suhitm

No, I'd like to be able to download a copy of the workbook so that I (and others) can investigate it directly.

@Hans Vogelaar Ok I'll attach one with this reply

Here's the link Sample Sheet.xlsx

Thanks!

Click on the chart, then double-click the x-axis.

Alternatively, select the x-axis, then activate the Format tab of the ribbon and click Format Selection.

In the Format Axis task pane, under Axis Options, select Text Axis as Axis Type.

The axis labels will then be the same as the cell values.

@Hans Vogelaar thanks buddy for the help.
