We’ve got some new features, many of which you’ve seen over the past two weeks in Canary and have been eagerly waiting for in Dev. We’ve also fixed quite a few reliability and behavior issues, the most significant of which include:
We have added a single fix from to the .2 release, a fix to the Add Profile button so that it works by default even if you don't change the name of the profile.
New features and behavior:
Fixes for improved reliability:
Fixes for improved behavior:
In addition to this work, there has been a ton of work on coming features including enterprise management and IE-mode. And of course, thanks to everybody for being an insider and sending us all of your great feedback and suggestions!

@Elliot Kirk I'm looking forward to improving accessibility with on-screen access programs. such as NVDA and narrator. poor availability when navigating with a mouse on web pages. content is barely voiced.

@EnverBozkaya it time zone issue you manage

Much better and more smooth, but still Favorite links opens in the current tab

@Dennis5milethank you , i know that, but 3 steps to open an link is much of time i think, many other browsers get the link in new tab just one click , and that make sense

@Elliot Kirk I described the problem in detail in my post on this form. when a mouse with screen access programs is used, web pages are very poorly voiced by the narrator and nvda. Here's my post. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Discussions/offer-of-functions/m-p/735363

Ah, great! The font issue with Oswald and Comfortaa has been fixed in Dev now, too, like in Canary. Much appreciated fix.

Oh, while on the edge://flags page I came across this interesting flag.. Not sure how long it has been there, but the concept is interesting...
I Like this idea. To be able to choose which sites to always clear on exit instead of having the option, but having no choice as to which sites....
But I think there needs to be an easier way to add sites. Having to add them one at a time could be time consuming. Would be nice that when you click the add button a popup appears that shows "all" the sites you have currently visited with a check box along side each where by you can choose which sites to either "not" clear on exit or "to" clear on exit. I think the choice should be "not" clear on exit....

@Elliot Kirk I tryed Read Aloud with 3 PDF and It's not working at all. Any workaround or property to fix before actually using it?

Got the update on Windows 10, but I'm not seeing the update on macOS Mojave yet. I tried downloading the installer, but it's the old build.

@rexbinary Same here. All Windows machines were offered the update, but none of the mac machines are.

Thank you for the details in what was updated, changed, improved, etc. That level of detail isn't common with other company's applications, usually.

I'm looking for that too.
The new yellow folders don't fit well.

@nverbeek I just checked again and the update was there.

Thanks for the language option!
There's a visual problem on the browser home page when the language is set to German.
The square where is written “Personalized news & more” (Personalisierte Nachrichten und Mehr, in German) doesn't fit with the text.
This update is awesome. Thanks for that. :)

@Elliot Kirk read aloud not work on reading view
07-09-2019 06:02 PM
@Passows No, the yellow folders are awesome! So glad that you can finally differentiate between folders and website icons that don't have a favicon assigned.

@Elliot Kirk thanks for the update! we need the top section (bar and title) to be more minimalism and tight. The 13-inch laptop needs more space.

@Elliot Kirk Something that I find that is missing from the current dev build, is the original Edge favorites menu and settings, slide out tab. Personally that was one thing that had drawn me to edge originally over other browsers, as it felt more streamlined and easier to see and use... It would be interesting, if we aren't going to get that style back to understand the reasoning behind the change.
However, overall I love the changes that have been made, and how much you guys really take into consideration the feedback... I wish you guys well with this endeavor!

@RubyBell Hi, my job require me to open 8 to 10 link in the same time every hour and report some financial issues, to do that i pin my favorites manager, so one click in a new tab would help me very much

@Elliot Kirk Dark mode is one of the most needed feature in a browser. If you include this extension's features into the Edge, it'd be perfect

@MarsMas , Just put all your links that you need to open in new tabs and use right click "Open All".

I agree. The monochrome folders were so much classier.

@MarsMas - If you use the "middle Click" on the mouse, the favorite/link etc will open in one click on a separate tab. This also works if you group your favorites into folders. One click will open all links in the folder.
I use this all the time, and not just in Edge

@Elliot Kirk did you fix that Lastpass bug?

because to me, the yellow folder looks dated. Like I said, it's not the end of the world, I just prefer the old folder icon.
I agree 100% with your second point. The "old" Edge looks so much better. The main/top part of the browser is not as tall, the URL bar is perfectly sized (the new one is HUGE), there are no Fluent elements etc. I absolutely love the new context menu design though (I believe this will be the default context menu design for the whole OS in the future).
Smooth scrolling in the old Edge is also the definition of perfection and thankfully, it's coming to the new Edge as well (scroll down a bit to the blue row): https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/welcome

When will you guys be working on the "my feed" section that appears when using the "informational layout" for new tabs?
I would like to request the ability to customize this section, similar to what google does, on a card by car basis, with no particular news aggregate set as default.

I just tested the SSO with Azure AD with one of my Enterprise Applications and it is prompting for a password. Are their any setting that need to be set for this to work?
07-10-2019 05:51 AM
Yellow folders are very welcome, they existed in the old Edge and it makes totally sense to have them here as well, old folders were too Chrome-esque, and the less this browser looks like a Google product, the better
07-10-2019 06:32 AM
@Elliot Kirk I would love to test AAD integration with SSO and an enterprise account. but if I log off with my private account and want to re-login -- I dont get any other option than "personal MS account".
how to I enter my company account from AAD?
thx

@MarsMas You can also just ctrl + click on a favorite (at least in the toolbar) and the link will open in a new tab.
