Hi all

I had no problems with version 1.3.00.28779 so decided to upgrade to the latest version - 1.3.00.30866
Once upgraded my camera also stopped working .. black screen .. then I deleted the cache and installed an older version - 1.3.00.13565 .. YES camera works again .. then just to be sure .. yet again I have clicked check for update .. After the upgrade to 1.3.00.30866 same problem .. black screen .. camera not working .. green led next to the camera also not glowing .. I guess the camera is not started at all .. note he also have no problem with camera with SfB, zoom or webex ...
any ideas ?
Hi ltomovski
We are also experiencing the exact same issue with this version, which is still the automatic update version being deployed.
We also get some of our users reporting that trying to use the camera crashes Teams completely, and they have to open it again to join audio calls only.
The only way we can get our users working again, is to direct them to the current version on the main Teams download site, which is 1.3.00.28779 and then their camera is working again.
- dafigreatCopper ContributorTeams 1.4.00.2871x64 has solved the problem with the USB camera (mic in-built) in windows 10 and 7. Nevertheless, Teams 1.4.00.8872x64 still has the same problem as Teams 1.3.00.3086 and later.

Multiple users in our company are experiencing this exact issue as well.

Hi all,
Still no real solution from Microsoft?
I did find a workaround, although this is not a feasible workaround if you have 100 users.
With this workaround there is no need to downgrade teams and should work with future updates.
OBS as virtual webcam
https://lucavitali.wordpress.com/2020/06/02/how-to-use-obs-studio-as-a-virtual-webcam/
- Ahsan2020Copper ContributorThis worked for us.
Users having the issue had REG_DWORD EnableFrameServerMode set to 0 in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform
&
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform
Deleting the EnableFrameServerMode key solved the issue.- fabiogrossCopper ContributorGood Morning. I was having the same problem at my company. I opened a call at Microsoft, and they attested to the BUG. I've been testing it every day, and today, believe me, it's back up and running. Detail, there was no update on teams release. It was probably an internal service issue at microsoft. I still haven't received the official return from Microsoft.

RichardEvans Did you have any luck with this issue?

Dear All,
After a lot of troubleshooting, here is the workaround I applied successfully on several machines to fix this problem.
1. Update or Reinstall the camera driver.
2. Uninstall Teams
3. Clear the Teams cache folder in the "Appdata" folder.
4. Download and install the current official version of Teams x64 (1.3.00.28779) which is older than the upgrade recently deployed.
5. Reboot the computer (really needed)
Don't know if this fix is permanent but so far, cameras have been working again for 2 weeks.

RichardEvans This is not a solution. This is along the lines of suggesting Zoom. And as DanBens pointed out, this will only last as long as your client doesn't update.

Restin5While it's still not a solution, I've been able to block updates to my older working version using a suggestion I found elsewhere.
- Browse to %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams in Windows Explorer
- Create a directory named DownloadedUpdate
- Right-click on the directory and select Properties
- Switch to the Security tab and click the Edit button
- Click the Add button
- Enter Everyone in the object box at the bottom, then click OK
- On the new Everyone entry, select the top checkbox in the Deny column (will select all).
- Click OK and confirm you do want to block access for everyone.
- Click OK to close the property sheet.
That should block access to the location Teams uses to download updates, to keep you on the old version until a proper fix is known to be available.
To restore Teams updates, remove the Everyone entry added to the list above then delete the DownloadedUpdate directory.

RichardEvans I can see how downloading version 28779 would correct the issue, but Microsoft Teams updates automatically without user or admin intervention. Wouldn't you simply be delaying the problem by going back to 28779, as the application would just update to 30866 on its own?

Good to see I'm not alone with this issue via desktop computer. I'm also having issues with the 64bit version after it updated to 1.3.00.30866.
Mine crashes with teams restarting again advising it had encountered a glitch, multiple attempts result in the same issue. Interestingly when I select settings in teams and select Devices it also crash loops back into teams again.
I have a somewhat unique setup so I tried a few methods when troubleshooting all to no avail.
Firstly my camera is a Canon M200 linked with Canons EOS utility. Thinking it was this I switched it out to a USB Logitech webcam. Alas the same issue.
Deleted the Teams cache folder...again no dice.
Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled...no dice.
My only temporary solution was to uninstall and revert to an older version I had of teams on hand (1.3.00.15561). This works, but of course it updates it in the background so should you quit out of teams entirely it will revert to 1.3.00.30866 and you'll have to uninstall and reinstall a previous version again just to get through the day.

I'm also having webcam issues after the update to Teams Version 1.3.00.30866 (64 bit). In my case no cameras are available in the Devices drop-down. It does list the microphone on the webcam for audio, and that works fine. Downgrading to Teams Version 1.3.00.28779 (64 bit) restores video support, so it's definitely a change as part of the most recent update.
The Camera app in Windows 10 (v1909) has always worked fine with the same webcam, but I've never been able to get it to work with Skype -- it doesn't show it as an available video device either. If the new Teams version is sharing more code with Skype it could explain it. The device seems to be getting filtered out for some reason.
My webcam is a cheap device bought from Amazon. It has a friendly name of "USB CAMERA" and a hardware ID of USB\VID_1224&PID_2A25&REV_0100&MI_00. It uses the standard Windows USB camera driver (usbvideo.sys), and worked as soon as I plugged it in. USBDeview shows USB class 0E, USB SubClass 03, USB Protocol 00. I don't think I can see a raw USB descriptor to paste here, but can look into that if it might help.

ltomovski Also in our organisation we see multiple incidents about camera issues in Teams and the latest update to 1.3.00.30866 (32-bits)
update: after reinstall to a lower version Microsoft Teams-versie 1.3.00.24758 (64-bits) camera is working.
update2: after a manually update check, I have now version Microsoft Teams-versie 1.3.00.30866 (64-bits). Updated on 23-11-20.. This one (64bit) is stable with the camera,- ltomovskiCopper ContributorI am still having the problem even with 64bit version ..
- DanBensCopper ContributorWe are also having this issue, but have also seen instances where a USB camera can also result in this problem. The camera work everywhere else on the PC and also in the Teams Web App, but just not in the Desktop App with the version 1.3.00.30866. Our company uses lenovo PCs and laptops.
