Has anyone seen issues adding a Brother printer to Universal Print? I purchased a MFC-L5700DW to use Universal Print. I've authorized the "Brother Universal Print Hardware Client" as a Global admin, and it seems to have solid permissions: I've updated the printer to the latest firmware: Main: ZV2212051025 SUB1: 1.56 Registration seems to succeed on Azure's side -- registering with a Global admin (& Print admin): But the printer simply reports it "timed out" every time: Error Registration timed out. Hi all, Is there a way to force a client's printers to be mapped with default A4 paper type? Most printers this is not an issue, but some it is it seems. Printers complain when receiving a job in letter, and the job fails. When opening the printer properties on the client > general > preferences > Layout > Advanced > 'Paper output' is default letter with newly mapped printers. (same for advanced > printing defaults) When I change these to A4 these jobs continue without issues (solves 90% of failed print jobs for me) I set the printing defaults in universal print blade correctly to A4 but printers get mapped with letter anyway. Would be nice if I could force it on the client, we never use letter. Hello, I have been using the Xerox Print and Scan Experience to scan documents for months. But yesterday, my printer had disappeared from the app. When I try adding it again, it forwards me to a website where it asks me to download and install XeroxSmartStart_1.9.12.0, which I have tried, but it doesn't help. I have removed and reinstalled th printer, didn't help. I noticed that when I click on 'Get application' in the printer settings of my Xerox Versalink C405, the Mircosoft Store opens and shows me the app HP Smart. Since I had also installed an HP printer (which I don't use often), I removed it. I also removed the drivers. It didn't help... And now I just noticed that Windows thinks my Xerox is an HP? (see image) Is that why it won't make the link with the Xerox Print and Scan Experience app anymore? I don't know how to fix that... Can someone help me? Hey, I am encountering some issues I cannot resolve. For some people, the shared printer from universal printing stops working - no apparent reason. Removing the printer and adding it again has helped - for a while. But on my surface pro, for example - You remove the printer, but it still shows up as being installed when you search to install it again. Whatever you do, the work or school search shows the deleted printer is still installed, so it is impossible to add it again. To get around that, I previously created a new printer, but it isn't a good solution. Looking for others that are using this app. It seems the app crashes weekly on various models (C300i with latest firmware). We can resume printing by logging in with admin access and re-enabling the app. We also see other issues like jobs printing (output produced) but not going to a completed state. These have been sitting like this for about 30 minutes. When this happens, we have to reboot the printer. We got nowhere working with our local support vendor. In the testing phase of setting up universal print at my organization I noticed a lot of the printing preferences features are missing. When using Universal Print Class Driver I am limited to Layout settings and Paper/Quality. Some of my users need access to more than these preferences. The main thing missing that is needed is the Secure Print feature. If I change the driver to the Konica driver, the feature show up but, the Universal Print Driver errors out. Has anyone run into this on the Konica printers? I will list the printer models we have below as well as attach pictures of what I am talking about. Hi everyone! we have just started deploying printers to intune clients using universal print. It works mostly fine, but after adding around 10 printers via policy, we see multiple upprinterinstaller.exe windows popping for a few minutes up each time the client synchronizes policy. Hi all, If you are encountering issues with a particular OEM printer driver on the Windows PC hosting the Connector, please post a comment with the driver name. Possible results due to compatibility issues Unable to register the printer to Universal Print Missing basic print options, such as paper size / paper type Color / grayscale / monochrome Duplex N-up Stapling Hole punch etc. Note: Advance functionality such as prompting user for account ID or PIN or watermark, etc. are not supported at this moment.
