Job Expiry
Is there a setting in Universal Print to set expiry of jobs if not released after a certain amount of time? e.g. if not released within five days (or whatever is the desired time period) it is deleted from the queue? We are currently testing Universal Print with one of our photocopiers, but I can't find any option for this. ThanksSolvedDavidYorkshireOct 23, 2024Steel Contributor169Views0likes1CommentUniversal Print Client for IOS based devices
Is there a private preview for the Universal Print Client for IOS devices? We have rolled out the universal print to our Windows and Mac devices. With this done, I was now wanting to be able to see if there was a way to get on a private preview for testing out IOS devices with the universal print client on it. Universal Print has stopped working on macOS 15 beta and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this or knows of a workaround. The job enters the print queue but it essentially says "Printer is busy", even though the printer sleeping, and the progress bar continually swipes back and forth. Trying to use ipptool results in "GETTOKEN" and the function cupsError() returns "Unauthorized". I've logged in to the UP preference panel, I have permission to print to the printer and it's shared to the Mac, checked via the portal. I've deleted and added the printer via the UP preference pane and the Printers & Scanners panel shows the printer as idle. In all cases, the Mac just won't communicate to the server to submit the job None of the troubleshooting steps are relevant nor help, does anyone have an idea of what to try next? Good morning I have installed on a HP LJ MANAGED E78523DN MFP the UP APP that HP has in its workpath. The configuration of the printer in AZURE occurs correctly, and the installation of the printer on the user's computer as well. There are no configuration or installation errors. The problem is that it gives error of printing in the queue and does not print (logically). I have seen that the refresh of the print queue does not do it and the refresh time goes up without any update. I have a video in which you can see the failure more clearly. I have escalated the problem to HP and they confirm that their APP works correctly after several tests and review of the internal LOG of the machine. I leave an image in which you can see the error Can you give me a clue where I can look, is there any way to see LOGS of the portal, has something similar happened with HP or other manufacturers? Thank you very muchSolvedSolitiumTJul 10, 2024Copper Contributor360Views0likes3CommentsBadge Release
Hi, we are an MSP working with many clients. We have a client looking to purchase a new MFP for a new office, and we thought this would be a good opportunity to test out Universal Print instead of Papercut. Are there any printers that support a badge secure release of documents queued by Univeral Print? I can't seem to find a straight answer on this topic, and the Universal Print documentation has no mention of badge readers. Any direction would be appreciated.SolvedDimitri AyrapetovMar 21, 2024Copper Contributor1.5KViews0likes2CommentsUniversal print support on windows server 2012, 2008 R2
Hi, We are currently doing POC on universal printing solution. Connectors are deployed for UP not ready printers. We have few applications running on windows server 2016,2012 and 2008 R2 requires connectivity to printers, unfortunately I am not able to connect universal cloud printers on 2012,2008 R2 servers. Could you please let me know if universal printing option (with connector) supported on windows server 2016,2012 and 2008 R2 server, if not any work around to user universal print solution from these endpoint devices.SolvedAkhil_Gopal_CFeb 21, 2024Copper Contributor593Views0likes2CommentsUniversal Print configured and accepting jobs but Ricoh printer does not find the print job
Hi, currently we have Universal Print enabled and some printers configured in this. The printer on which I am testing is shared and shows as accepting jobs and is in the ready state. I have configured the printer on my own laptop and I am able to send a print job to the Universal Print. The job will show as completed in Universal Print itself, but then when I walk to the printer and authenticate with my badge, it shows no print jobs that are ready for me to be printed. The printer in question is a Ricoh printer and is also configured in Streamline NX. I am fairly new to working with printers like this in general. Does anyone have an idea of what perhaps could be the issue? Could it be something firewall related that the printer is blocking the incoming jobs? Thanks in advance!!SolvedMatthiasVeelaertFeb 20, 2024Copper Contributor3.2KViews0likes8CommentsWhat to do when people dont have a phone
Hi volks, we are using universal print since a few weeks and it works really good. I have two questions where i found now answer maybe they are stupid but i wanted to give it a try 🙂 1. Is there a good solution for people to print when we activated secure qr code at the printer and for example the worker forgot his phone at home ? - I mean sure i could connect the printer for direct printing but we want to have everyone to make secure print. 2. Is there a possible way if we have activated secure print with qr code, that for example the boss is printing something and his secretary needs to pick up the prints ? Maybe those questions are stupid but i want to have a backup plan. Thanks for your input guys 🙂 Cheers,SolvedMakishiFeb 06, 2024Copper Contributor948Views0likes5CommentsAll printers printing slow.
As seen above many print jobs are taking +30 seconds regularly to print. Printer acknowledgement time is oddly high in this case but among other printers (we have +50 using universal print, all very slow when compared to operating on local network) the time delay may be more due to upload/download. The larger file sizes on average take longer as expected but not in all cases, some times very small 1 page print jobs just take a long time despite the printer not doing anything when the job was issued.SolvedUniPrintLadDec 13, 2023Copper Contributor5.3KViews0likes14CommentsXerox Print and Scan Experience suddenly not working anymore
Hello, I have been using the Xerox Print and Scan Experience to scan documents for months. But yesterday, my printer had disappeared from the app. When I try adding it again, it forwards me to a website where it asks me to download and install XeroxSmartStart_1.9.12.0, which I have tried, but it doesn't help. I have removed and reinstalled th printer, didn't help. I noticed that when I click on 'Get application' in the printer settings of my Xerox Versalink C405, the Mircosoft Store opens and shows me the app HP Smart. Since I had also installed an HP printer (which I don't use often), I removed it. I also removed the drivers. It didn't help... And now I just noticed that Windows thinks my Xerox is an HP? (see image) Is that why it won't make the link with the Xerox Print and Scan Experience app anymore? I don't know how to fix that... Can someone help me? Thanks MorganeSolvedMolambreDec 01, 2023Copper Contributor30KViews0likes21Comments
