How to merge cells of table in OneNote
Hello, I have created document in word but for organizing that document section wise and explaining it to my team I have used OneNote and I was looking for the way to have similar kind of table structure in OneNote as I have created in Word. I want to know how to merge cells of table in OneNote. Thank you.
OneNote - Inserting Code Blocks
Are there any plans for a way to format code blocks in OneNote without inserting a 1 column/row table or an ugly print out? The most relevant Google search brings up a post from 2018 where the top answer says its been requested on UserVoice and directs OP there, but 3 years later, still no code block formatting options and Microsoft isn't using UserVoice anymore so I don't where else I can submit feature requests besides this discussion board. Thanks!
Long file paths in OneDrive for Business
My tenant has the long file paths now so I can go beyond the 255 characters. I altered my registry to extend the path length, and that also works. But I cannot save a file via the SaveAs feature that places the file into my OneDrive folder that is beyond 255 Characters? Now I understand that the Office App need the LongFilePathAware in the manifest. Why wouldn't that already be there so this can work? Or do I need something else I am missing trying to weave this all together?Office 365 user Settings - User language and time zone not available
How can an Office 365 administrator activate the 'language and time zone'-option in the user settings? in this article https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Change-your-display-language-and-time-zone-in-Office-365-for-Business-6f238bff-5252-441e-b32b-655d5d85d15b there is mentioned " If your Office 365 settings don't include an option to change the language, ask your organization's Office 365 administrator for help." And now, someone got an idea?Outlook 2016 not available to set as default mail app
hello, we have a new Surface with Windows 10 and Office 365 E3 account and yet we're unable to go through the default app settings and select Outlook. She's able to open Outlook and use it directly but links to open new mails are using Mail. The only mail app showing is the default Mail app. Any suggestions?
OneNote 2016 data files location
I have OneNote 2016 for Desktop Win10 set to save data files in c:\Users\joe\Documents\Onenote Notebooks but when I look there with file explorer I do not see any files. Where are the data files? (I do know they are also in AppData Folder, but I want then in my Documents Folder)
Please add Markdown support
Please add support for Markdown editing/rendering. EverNote and Boostnote all support this, but OneNote still lacks this feature, while it remains so many developers' main notetaking tool. Take myself as an example, I enjoy its seamless integration with OneDrive and powerful search function, but find it difficult to properly take down coding related notes -- I was forced to format code snippets into monospaced font with shading to make them look like "code snippets". To elaborate the user story about this idea: The user can create a new "regular page" or a "Markdown page". If the latter, then Markdown tags entered are rendered as you type (e.g. #title, >quote, *bold*, `code`...) The user might also enjoy a "cell editing" mode (similar to Jupyter Notebook). So if the cursor is placed in a cell, then it changes to raw text view. And once escaped from this cell, it gets rendered. And maybe enable some Jupyter/VS Code stype shortcut keys, too (Alt+Up/Down to move the cell, Alt+Shift+Up/Down to duplicate the cell, Ctrl+Shift+K to kill a line, etc) This way notetaking will be more efficient/fun, and many developers would thank MS!
