Word work area is too small; how can fix this?

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I have both Microsoft Word 2007 and Office XP on my computer (Dell Optiplex 780, Windows 10) and only recently has a problem presented itself. Every time I open a new, blank document in 2007 - the work area is way too small and I can't restore it to normal size. How can I fix this? I've removed and reinstalled both programs but the issue persists.

Thank you for your time.Blank is way too small,Blank is way too small,

Try changing the zoom. Drag the Zoom Slider on the bottom right of the Word window.

@Stefan_Blom     Thanks, that worked! It also appears to be permanent.

Not permanent but perhaps persistent. For closer to permanent, use one of MVP Jay Freedman's free SaveView utilities The Macro Zone - Jay Freedman, MVP

Older versions of Word did save the view and zoom with each individual document. I believe that Word 2007 is "old enough" for that to work.

As Charles suggested, you may want to use Jay Freedman's add-in for more options.
