I've had a big problem since switching from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro... My folders shared from my PC are invisible on my sallon DHCP bluray drive. I had no problems before when I was on Windows 7 Pro, Windaube 10 is a real hassle for that! on the other hand, with software like SERVIIO it works! but the problem with this type of software is that you have to constantly synchronize your partitions... this proves that the problem comes from Windaube! if someone could get me out of this mess it would be wonderful otherwise I would continue to blow my brains out going around in circles...FinleyGroveJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor17Views0likes2CommentsWindows 10 automatic update installation package occupies over 10GB of space.
Windows 10 automatic updates have accumulated approximately 10GB of installation packages on the system drive (primarily for system upgrades or patches). After attempting common methods such as disk cleanup tools and manually deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder, only a small amount of space has been freed. Seeking a solution to completely clean up residual update files.MardainJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor27Views0likes2CommentsWindows 11 File Explorer opens with user folder expanded in navigation pane.
I'm helping someone set up their computer, and when I open File Explorer, the navigation pane opens with the user folder expanded. It's within the This PC item. This adds a lot of clutter and is unhelpful. I've attached two screenshots. How can I get it to open with everything collapsed in the navigation menu? I've already toggled the folder options to "Expand to open folder" and "Show all folders" on and back off. And I've restored defaults for the folder view options. I can't figure out why it won't stay collapsed. Thanks for the help!AlexBlytheJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor34Views0likes3CommentsWindows 11 computer displays a blue screen after restarting following an internet disconnection.
The computer periodically loses network connectivity and cannot be manually restored (requiring a reboot). However, attempting to restart the system after each disconnection directly triggers a blue screen (not a blue screen after restart). The network disconnection and blue screen issues have persisted simultaneously for an extended period. Seeking the underlying cause of this correlation and a solution.far2bridJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor20Views0likes3Comments¿Cómo puedo descargar mp3 de YouTube?
EphraimjoJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor66Views0likes8CommentsWindows Vista remote assistance
Following a hard drive change I performed the following operations: -re installation vista - Update - Installing Firefox that works correctly - Nod 32 antivirus installation. - Activation of Nod 32 with the correct key (validity verified with Eset) - Key entry that is valid; sent; = activation server response inaccessible Following the inability to activate Nod 32, I contacted support who asked me to get my hands on my PC; so I followed their instructions: - Downloading "takecontrol" - Launch of the software = nothing happens -downloading "anydesk" -launch of the software = nothing happens At first, after 20 minutes at 0.18€ per minute, I gave up to search for myself. -So I disabled "windows defender"; the windows firewall and even Nod 32 (just in case) -I have remote assistance enabled in the control panel. Nothing to do, the software does not start; I'm dry! Do you have any other ideas? (apart of course from the path to the recycling center)AsherReedJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor5Views0likes0CommentsThe "history" of security certificates on Windows Insider Program
Hello everyone, A number of security certificates expire on September 30 at 4 p.m., and failure to replace them before the deadline could prevent affected machines from connecting to the Internet. The expert who warned about this waited a week before the deadline to come forward, which meant that by the time the information circuits reacted, I was informed by an email yesterday at 6:02 p.m., and I read it a bit by chance. What to check on a Vista machine? As for telephones, I imagine that we only have a problem connecting to the Internet, that we can always make calls? I guess I'll have to try asking the question in different places, because here if we answer in a day or two that's okay.BennettFrostJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor5Views0likes0CommentsWill Windows 11 run well if My computer is old?
I know it looks like trolling/ragebait, but please don't disregard it as that. I'm poor. This is my only computer. As you can see it is top 2025 technology /s It is running with an HDD only and the graphics are Intel G41 express chipset. Two years ago I used to use Windows 10 on this same machine, and you needed patience to use it. Another thing I did not like was the stuff it downloaded on the background (updates afaik). My internet service is like 2 MB so it had an impact. These things made me go back to Win 8.1. But obviously this is not only really dangerous as internet is still needed, but Windows 8.1 is not really stable in my machine. Blue screens are more common. Honestly I think I can get over windows 10 performance as long if its more stable (and also it would be actually safe to browse the internet, as I have planned to install Win 10 IoT LTSC). Honestly when working with slow systems, after everything has finally loaded or recovered from a lockup, the experience with the opened software its ok. Games are not a problem as the only games I play are Neo Geo games. The heaviest work I do in my computer is Video Editing, which I do with Linux on dual boot. But also got curious from installing Windows 11 as people say its not so different from Windows 10, but I'm not really sure bc, obv, english speaking post are likely from a good country, and will probably be rocking hardware that is acceptable in todays standards, and therefore the difference between 10 and 11 would look like less from then, but at the end im speculating.KaydenyoJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor26Views0likes2CommentsWindows 11 Dev channel won't update from 26100 to 26120
Under Windows Update, Windows Insider Program I get the message 'Check Windows Update for a newer and more secure build' but Windows update says thet I am up to date. When I troubleshoot the message, I should be on 26120.2200 now. The insider programme no longer shows the insider channel I am on as it only gives the choice of stopping the insider preview builds.JohnBy41Jan 13, 2026Copper Contributor619Views0likes2Comments
