"AMI" screen following motherboard change on Windows computer
Following a change of motherboard after twisting pins of the processor socket, I bought the same one. Everything is reconnected, it starts, and I come across a new screen on a black background "AMI" which asks me to do "Y" or "N". By doing "N", Windows starts, the problem is that each time I start I have this screen which tells me that I have built a new CPU. I made all the motherboard updates. I hesitate to make the choice "Y" which talks about bitlocker (not activated on any of my hard drives). Does this tell me about fTpm...? Thank you for your guidance! Ps: my microsoft account tells me that I have not generated any bitlocker recovery keys.CalahanReedJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor3Views0likes0CommentsInvisibe PC network from my sallon bluray player
I've had a big problem since switching from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro... My folders shared from my PC are invisible on my sallon DHCP bluray drive. I had no problems before when I was on Windows 7 Pro, Windaube 10 is a real hassle for that! on the other hand, with software like SERVIIO it works! but the problem with this type of software is that you have to constantly synchronize your partitions... this proves that the problem comes from Windaube! if someone could get me out of this mess it would be wonderful otherwise I would continue to blow my brains out going around in circles...DaniolleJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor6Views0likes0CommentsNew PC speed lower than Old PC, Why?
I recently built a new PC, but I noticed that its performance and speed are significantly lower than my old computer, even though the new system has more powerful hardware components. I am unsure why the new machine is running slower despite having better specifications, and I would like to understand what could be causing this issue so I can optimize its performance.NathanelpJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor5Views0likes0CommentsSlowness and saturaed Ram following transition to Windows computer
I have a Dell G5 15 5587 (2019) laptop - (16go Ram - SSD 256 + DD 1To - Intel 6c/12t CPU - GPU 1060 6go) Since switching to Win 11 last November (voluntary automatic migration), I have had major problems with slowness. The RAM is quickly saturated at more than 85%, everything reacts very slowly, after an hour I have to restart the PC to regain some flexibility). Documents take a good minute to open, with more than 5 PDFs the reader crashes, etc. It's a real hassle. The CPU is never used much (I don't play on it anymore), but it takes crazy hits which can last 30sc where it gets carried away before returning to a normal office level. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.AmiassrJan 13, 2026Iron Contributor3Views0likes0CommentsWindows Insider update stuck in endless download install restart loop
Hi everyone, I accidentally enrolled my PC into the Windows Insider Preview Program and since then I am stuck in a continuous update loop. A new Insider update appears in Windows Update, it downloads to 100 percent successfully, installs successfully, then Windows asks me to restart to complete the update. After restarting Windows shows Updating for around 30 minutes but it never completes, then the system boots normally and when I check Windows Update again the same update starts downloading again from the beginning. This cycle repeats every time so the update never finishes, I cannot properly leave the Windows Insider Preview Program and Windows Update is effectively stuck. I would like to stop this update loop, safely unenroll from the Windows Insider Preview Program and return to the stable public release of Windows without losing any data. Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. After the system completes an update, a previously unseen E drive partition suddenly appears in “This PC” or Disk Management. It is unclear whether this partition is a system recovery partition, a temporary partition, or an abnormal display. Please advise on how to identify it and recommend appropriate handling.DreinJan 02, 2026Iron Contributor1View0likes0CommentsHow to pin the time to the top of the taskbar in Windows 10?
I would like the time/calendar interface in the lower-right corner of the system to remain on top or stay fixed after being clicked open. Even when switching to other windows or performing other actions, this time interface should not automatically hide or close. Please advise on how to achieve this.far2bridJan 02, 2026Iron Contributor3Views0likes0CommentsWindows 10 Pro Workstation Edition Installation Options
Hello, I plan to install Windows 10 22H2 Professional Workstation Edition and have questions regarding the version number selection: Should I follow some recommendations and install an older version with specific patches (e.g., July 2023's 19045.3208), or should I directly install the latest version containing all the newest security updates (e.g., the July 2025 release)? I need to understand the specific differences and pros and cons of these two options.ManzanitaerHeroJan 02, 2026Iron Contributor1View0likes0Comments
