I'm experiencing an issue with unwanted Insider updates. I initially signed up for the Windows Insider Program to test new features, but now I'm finding that I'm getting updates that I don't want or need. It's becoming a nuisance because they can disrupt my daily workflow and make my system less stable. I want to know if there’s a way to stop these updates from being pushed to my system without having to completely opt out of the Insider Program. Is there anyone else facing the same issue? Any tips on managing or disabling these unwanted updates while still being part of the program would be greatly appreciated!ReaganJohnsonDec 29, 2025Iron Contributor33Views1like1CommentWin11 22H2 - search function won't work when first letter is 'm' !?!
HI, yesterday i updates to win 11 22H2 & also added the following 3 quality updates: KB5018496 KB5018341 KB5018483 Now when i open the Start or Search windows from the taskbar and start with the letter 'm' it just freezes not entering the remaining letters and then closes itself. If i start with any other character it works fine. 'M' works fine as long as it isn't the first charcter entered. Win 11 never crashes and everything else seems ok. Searching in File Explorer or Mail is also ok, it's just Start & Search on the taskbar that is doing this. I ran SFC Scannow & DISM restoreimage & restorehealth but no change. Version - 22H2 OS Build - 22621.755 Anybody else seen this problem? Any suggestions for a fix? Thanks.AlexBlytheDec 29, 2025Iron Contributor93Views0likes1CommentAdmin account. Some Start-RT Click apps do nothing at all. Some Start run commands do nothing at all
Windows 11 24H2. I am on an ADMIN account. * Right click on the start button and choose, for this example let's use Device Manager, and absolutely nothing happens. I use Sysinternals Process Explorer and verify no MMC is running. I left click on the start button and run Device Manager and it's starts up normal. * Left click on the start button and type in CMD, click on Run as Admin - nothing happens. I've gone to the command.exe and made it's properties run as admin. Now go back to Run->CMD-Open and cmd starts up in Admin mode. I've done quite a bit of research on this and it seems there are hundreds of similar issues. I've tried many things to fix this not limited to the ubiquitous DISM, SFC, etc... sorry I haven't logged all the things I've tried over the past few months since this started. Any polite concise suggestions appreciated. Also sorry i dont know why this is forcing me to do a poll.KevinRamirezDec 29, 2025Bronze Contributor28Views0likes1CommentHow can I transfer or migrate windows to new ssd for Win11/10
Hey everyone, I‘m finally trying to upgrade my old hard drive to a shiny new SSD, but I'm completely lost on how to actually move Windows over without starting from scratch. I heard of disk ccloning is the way to go, but I have no idea what software to use or if I’m going to accidentally wipe everything. Could someone please break down the simplest, most reliable method for a beginner to let me migrate windows to new SSD? I'm especially unsure about what to do with the new drive once it's cloned. Do I just swap them, or are there BIOS settings I need to change? Free tools would be a huge plus.CharlesTurnerDec 29, 2025Iron Contributor58Views0likes7Comments- JacquelineSomDec 29, 2025Iron Contributor3Views0likes0Comments
