Universal Print for not Domain Joined Windows Computer
We are currently in the process of making Universal Print available at our University. Administrative Staff and Faculty Members can already benefit from UP - especially sending print jobs while users are not connected to our core network is much appreciated. Computer for these users are managed by Intune and member of our domain. Roll-Out happened with Intune Device Configuration and is working mostly well. Our Students come with their own personal/private computer (BYOD). These devices are NOT managed by Intune and are NOT member of our Windows Domain. When they come with an Apple macOS device, they can easily install "Universal Print" from Apple App Store and are ready to got - perfect. BUT, when my students come with a Microsoft Windows computer, they cannot take advantage of UP, because UP would only work, if they login to Windows with their University M365 account. It is ridiculous, that Microsoft punish users of their own operating system harder then Apple macOS users. Have anyone found a solution for this type of scenario? Universal Print with multiple work accounts often not working
Hello everyone, we are currently in a carve out situation and are building up our own infrastructure, mainly relying on M365. In the further text I will refer to us as "Company M" and the company we are getting carved out from is "Company F". We are rolling out Entra ID joined clients to our users and also adopted to universal print utilizing several Kyocery printers natively supporting Universal Print. We registered the devices successfully and roll out this printers via an Intune policy using Printer Provisioning specifying the Share ID, CloudDevice ID and Printer Shared Name. This works so far... However as mentioned we as Company M are in the process of a Carve Out from Company F. We need to add our still existing account from Company F as "Work or School" account to our clients (which are entra ID joined with Company M, and the users are of course signing on with the account of Company M). Unfortunately, this causes universal print errors. The user tries to print, but the print job gets stuck on the client and does not arrive at UP. We see Errors in the Event Log like: SetChannelAuth failed when sending SendIppPrinterRequest request. hr: 0x8001012d APMon.dll The users also receive Authentication Popups for the Account with "Company F" unable to select an option to switch to a different account when trying to troubleshoot the printing (not sure what exactly they click). Also when this issue happens the users are also not able to add the Printer via the settings app. Normally I would click Add Printer, and select "Work or School"... also in this case we get an Authentication Popup for the "Company F" User, unable to select anything to switch the "Company M" User, where Universal Print is hosted. If we fully remove the Company F user, universal print works normally, but this is not an option at the moment, as we need to access one specific app from company F for a while, and this needs the device to be registered (and approved afterwards) in their tenant. If we would remove and readd the account, we would still need to have the device approved again by Company F as it gets a new Device Object in THEIR Entra ID. I know a bit complicated, but I have no influence on what Company F does. However this seems to be some sort of bug in Universal Print that sometimes it uses the correct account and printing works, and sometimes it switches to the other account and does not work, throwing errors like the one above.
Remove Printers from clients?
We deploy printers with Intune. It works well. But how do we remove a printer from a client PC after is it decommissioned and physically removed? It does not seem to be removed when not published with Intune anymore? Is a Powershell script needed to remove the Printer and corresponding Port??
Xerox Print and Scan Experience suddenly not working anymore
Hello, I have been using the Xerox Print and Scan Experience to scan documents for months. But yesterday, my printer had disappeared from the app. When I try adding it again, it forwards me to a website where it asks me to download and installXeroxSmartStart_1.9.12.0, which I have tried, but it doesn't help. I have removed and reinstalled th printer, didn't help. I noticed that when I click on 'Get application' in the printer settings of my Xerox Versalink C405, the Mircosoft Store opens and shows me the app HP Smart. Since I had also installed an HP printer (which I don't use often), I removed it. I also removed the drivers. It didn't help... And now I just noticed that Windows thinks my Xerox is an HP? (see image) Is that why it won't make the link with theXerox Print and Scan Experience app anymore? I don't know how to fix that... Can someone help me? Thanks Morgane
Not able to Register Universal Print ready printers
Hello, we have purchased three Canon C1333iF printers to use Microsoft Universal Print. These printers are Universal Print ready printers. We get an error message when we click register on the printer's online portal. Information such as the App ID, registration URL, and authentication URL are pre-populated by Canon. Canon support says that the error is with Microsoft. Attached I am sending a screenshot of the printer's Universal Print setting configuration. We can rule out the following: We can rule out a license and permissions issue, as we can't even get to the user account prompt. We can also rule out a network problem, as we have already tested this via a mobile hotspot. I would be very grateful for any hints and tips. regards Lucas
How to mark a print job as completed in universal print with virtual printer
With graph API, I am able to register a virtual printer in universal print. When a job is submitted it is marked as paused. I am able to download the pdf attached to the print job and set the task to completed. After task is completed, the job gets a new status as pending. I am not able to figure out how to mark the job as completed after downloading it. I do not want to print the job in real. Only thing we want is to download and save the pdf and mark the job as completed.Konica Universal Print App
Looking for others that are using this app. It seems the app crashes weekly on various models (C300i with latest firmware). We can resume printing by logging in with admin access and re-enabling the app. We also see other issues like jobs printing (output produced) but not going to a completed state. These have been sitting like this for about 30 minutes. When this happens, we have to reboot the printer. We got nowhere working with our local support vendor. We're trying to get national support involved.Print with MS Uniprint from Linux like MacOS?
Dear all, dear Microsoft, is there a function to print from Linux systems, like Ubuntu the MS Universal print, maybe similar like the integration for MacOS. We have some clients froom our side, which aks for this, because of mixed environments with Windows, MacOS and Linux based workstations for the users. as i read, there where already some other posts in the past for linux and MS uni print. Thanks!
Issue with Printer connection
Hi, I have an HP Printer which is connected to the Azure Universal printer. I face the issue where I try to print. It works perfectly fine the first time when I want to print something but it doesn't work the second time. I have to connect it everytime I have to print. A solution to this would be very helpful
Universal Print GCC
Question about universal print in GCC. The MS site states that with G3 or G5 you also need the “extra features sku” or windows ols activation sku. Do you know what the “extra features” sku is? The site has no further mention of it and I cant find anything else on the topic. If we have to go windows ols, that is only available through open value?
