Site pages always need to be checked in before approving them.

For one of our sites, every time a page is created or modified then submitted for the required approval, we need to go to the page list and check the page in before it can be approved.

I could be mistaken but I believe this has to do with the Versioning Settings. I've checked the list settings and see "Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?" is set to NO. I'm not sure what other setting would check a page out and prevent it from being approved.

I'm having the same issue for one of my Clients.

From what I've gathered, normally after submitting for approval, the draft is saved and the page is checked in. The Draft is stored somewhere to be approved.

In the site that's having the same issue, after submitting the page is checked out.

Hello! did you find a solution for this issue? I'm having the same issue here. I approve all the site's news posts, but since a few months ago, all new news posts are generated as checked-out. I can see my own checked out pages in the Site Pages collection, but I cannot see anyone else's until they check them in. I even made a Power Automate flow that automatically checks in new pages, but it only works for mine.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks

Hi there, on my end it seemed that someone changed the versioning settings to only accept Major versions.

To fix this, I changed the versioning settings to accept minor and major versions and this fixed the check in process.

Hello @NAJC !! Thanks for your reply.

I just checked and I have major and minor versioning active but I still have the same problem.

I will try to keep finding a solution.

Thanks!
