On a communication site we are seeing more use cases for leveraging page templates that can be made easily available so users can re-use them as new pages are created. Today it seems you have the ability in copying an existing page to create a new one, but you need to navigate and open the page you wish to re-use to create a new one. Does anyone know of other supported techniques we could use today for creating page templates? It looks there is a new capability coming by February 2019 where you can promote/save a modern page into a Page Design that would then appear as a choice in some sort of Page Design Panel. Does anyone have more details on this upcoming capabilty for example what specific actoins will allow a page be saved as a page design (is this done with the promote acton?) do page design cover not only the layout but also web parts that were added to the page? where will the Page Designs pane show up, will we see a new menu option on the home page for instance or will it be something that only surfaces on the pages library?
