I've been working more with communication sites and had a question about the Hero web part.  I want to have one of the tiles be a mailto link that opens an email.  Looking at the settings I don't think this is possible.  I tried putting in https://mailto:<email address> but it doesn't recognize it. It won't let me put in an a tag either.  Has anyone been able to find a work-around for this and do we know if it's in the pipeline to allow mailto or click to call links in the Hero web part?

Only thing I've found that works is finding a URL shorten-er that supports mailto. In this case tny.im or similar, then you can use these URL's which work for mailto:.

what would be the string code for using "mailto:" inside and internal sharepoint site. I am glad i found this post.  see the image i have attached for reference. thank you.
