Text verification flaw

Today I was required to change my password because it was expiring. Upon doing that, I had to re-enter my password in all of the Microsoft applications that I use on my desktop. I have both Teams and Outlook open, and instead of tying the two of them together, it made me re-enter the password for both programs individually. Kind of annoying, but fine, it's not a big deal. The problem however is that both of them also require a text verification code.

On the second program, I was greeted with a lovely message saying that I have hit the limit on text verification codes and have to try again later. Why would you make me re-enter my password back-to-back if your system isn't set up to send out back-to-back verification codes!? That is a very flawed system and I can't be the first person to encounter this issue.
