Ghost messages

Copper Contributor

In my mailbox I have ghost messages for most of my email.  The message is above the real one but it is empty, not actually openable.  It is extremely distracting plus it fills up my inbox twice as fast.  I have gone to every setting I can find to no avail.  I am ready to dump Outlook altogether.Capture.JPG

It doesn't look like a duplication to me but a Group Header because of the way you have configured your View.

You can either reconfigure it or Reset your View back to default.

Simplified Ribbon

  • View-> Current View-> View Settings...-> Group By...
  • View-> Current View-> Reset View

Classic Ribbon

  • View-> View Settings-> Group By...
  • View-> View Settings-> Reset View

@Robert Sparnaaij No it has nothing to do with the ribbon, classic or simplified.  Every email has a duplicate email above it.  It is not a real message.

Those are instructions to adjust or reset the View of the Message List ;)

I realize that but that is not the problem. I have adjusted everything possible in the message views.
If I click on where it says 'view' either nothing happens or I get an error message.
Your explanation makes sense re the header but I cannot access the View. When I click on it in either ribbon nothing happens. So I can't change it!
