Teams - how to allow users to edit a file but not download

How can I allow users in a channel to edit a file but not download it?

Hi@Lisaabg  No one should need to download the file to edit it - they can edit it in Teams or choose "open in browser or Desktop app" to make their changes, which save automatically.  In fact, it's preferable that they don't.

Sure but do you know how it would be technically configured to prevent download so we're not reliant on trusting staff not to download it? I'm struggling with the same issue - (for contract document editing across departments). We want to keep the document in one place, allow people to make edits or markups, but not allow them to download.
