Paid subscription but it won't allow me access Teams

My company has paid extra for Microsoft Teams Essentials and they have assigned the subscription to my email address. However, when I try and log in it says that 'You don't have the required permissions to access this org'.

There is no way of contacting support and when my colleague who set this up does contact MS, she is told that everything should be working okay - but it's not!

Is it possible you do not have the correct Teams installed for your organization? I know our users tend to see that message when opening Teams, instead of the "Teams (for work or school) version."

make sure you are using Teams for Work / School - there is a version for non which is default install
