Making call from Outlook contact card to a phone number no longer working since 1.6.00.18681
Dear all
Since Update to Teams 1.6.00.18681, starting a call from Outlook contact card to a phone number is no longer working. Presence is visible, which indicates Teams Presence Plugin, which is handling these requests, is in general working.
Making calls to a SIP address of a contact (IM address) is still working, only calls to phone numbers are broken. After clicking to link with phone number under "Work phone" nothing happens. This worked before.
User is fully enabled for Teams Telephony.
Does someone else mentioned this issue and found a solution to make it work again?
Best Regards,
- Since today, it also works on my environment for regular Teams client. With new Teams Client (public preview) it never worked and still does not work. Hope this issue with regular Teams client triggers fixing new Teams Client (public preview) as well before it become general available.
- _pga_Copper ContributorWe expierence the same issue. Even making calls to a SIP Adress is not possible since Teams 1.6.00.18681
I opened a ticket with Microsoft Support. I advise everyone doing the same, so Microsoft will take this issue seriously. Click2Call is a main function within Outlook/Teams.- PhilSpakCopper Contributor
I have openend a Case too: #2308091420001070 - so maybe they can make a refrence to it too.

Hi! We expierence the same issue, any news on that, we tried everything... eg. rolling back to older version... I guess it also has something to do with the office version...
Any News on that issue?
- LaurieBeamishBrass ContributorWe are also having the same issue, I have submitted a ticket with Microsoft and got TrackingID#2308080040010426. I also let them know about this article so they can see we are not alone.

- tms102576Copper ContributorSame issue here, really a pain since this happened.
- GreysiBrass ContributorSeems, Microsoft has published a fix today. Please update regular Teams Client (not work preview client) and try again.

hey all,
a feedback from us:
we installed the Update from Teams (v. 1.6.00.20074) x64 and it will not work again for us.
we also tried to install an Update for Office 365 to (Version 2307 Build 16.0.16626.20170)

Same here, any client version, even reverted to something lower than 1.6.00.18681 does not seem to make it work again.
And it isn't only from the Outlook Contacts but also from the person fly-outs in Outlook - PhilSpakCopper ContributorWhat I can confirm, is that the new Version 2.1 Client (aka New Teams) is actually working if you register the client as UC Client to Windows.
Microsoft seemed to majorly buggered something up here.
Client Version: 23219.2100.2295.1990- PhilSpakCopper ContributorSorry I was too vague:
Under Settings / Register Teams as the chat app for Office (requires restarting Office applications)
Logout / Logon and it should work again.
- MartinStraCopper Contributorsame problem here with the new Teams app (using latest version 23202.1509.2295.2283, last updated on 8/11/2023) and latest office. Teams logout/login did not help.
