Company Phone Contacts for Teams

Copper Contributor

Hello, is there a way for us to import a list of contacts (Phone Numbers) from an external source like Excel that goes into all of our users Teams Contact lists? I see its importing info from Outlook I believe currently, however we can seem to get it to sync to another list instead of the default one in outlook.

Hi ,

Not currently natively - however there are multiple uservoices to import contacts directly into Teams from sources such as .xls, .csv, Skype, Office 365 groups and many other sources other than outlook. One such uservoice is here

The same applies for importing them into all users simultaneously, importing groups or having a companywide contact list like Skype for Business used to have

So I would vote and look at the other uservoices on the site to push up the agenda.

A logical workaround to this would be to import via excel into Outlooks which would then sync with Teams

However this is limiting and does not solve the issue of a shared contacts list, a company contacts list or the absence of natively importing it in Teams. Contacts is an area which is very much underdeveloped and we are all looking forward to seeing it develop in the future. Many of us have been vocal on the matter.

Hope that answers your question!

Best, Chris
