Email missing from Inbox after forwarding

Brass Contributor

Hi,

I have users who setup their O365 email forwarding to their Gmail account, while keeping a copy in the O365 server.

They have reported not seeing some emails in their O365 inbox, but they got the email in their Gmail. At least 2 users reported the same scenario. Both of the incident are from External sender.  But prior to this, the user do not have problem receiving email from the same external sender.

I check on the message trace, I can see that the "missing email" is captured in the trace with the following events:

One thing certain is the email definitely has reached their O365 account, else it won't get processed and redirected to their Gmail. There is no email rules created in their account, to delete email or move email to another folder.

And I don't think is a case of "accidental delete", cause the user didn't notice the email until they saw it in their Gmail.

Any idea what could be the cause of the problem?

Thanks.

Hi, without giving this much thought there was just recently an forced update for automatic external forwarding (MC221119). Perhaps take a look at the outbound settings
