Preparing for TLS 1.2 in Office 365 and Office 365 GCC
Hi all, As the information below was updated recently and there hasn't been any other mention of it (ex. Message center) I just want to spread the word. Important The world is in the middle of a pandemic, and we at Microsoft are aware of the impact on our customers and partners. To lighten the burden on our commercial customers, we have temporarily halted any deprecation enforcement of TLS 1.0 and 1.1. An update will be sent on a revised timeline after the current crisis stabilizes. (This article is revised to reflect the change.) https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/troubleshoot/o365-security/prepare-tls-1.2-in-office-3651KViews0likes0Comments- 92KViews0likes0Comments
Re: Allow guests to join meeting whilst having Anonynous access turned off
Hello again, why have you added them as guests if you only want to have meetings and not any requirement to access Teams resources etc? You could either remove the guest accounts because then you're already set with the open federation or you can ask the guests not being able to access the meeting to make sure they are signed into your tenant from the org. switcher accessible from the top right corner. That's my best resolution to this. If still not working you better open up a support case.1.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Allow guests to join meeting whilst having Anonynous access turned off
Hi, well anyone can actually join a meeting (if you permit it) you only add them as guests, and not federated, when you want them to also access Teams resources (as federated/external access can't). Perhaps you better open up a proper support ticket with Microsoft as this sounds a bit odd.1.5KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Accidental Teams Free deletion email sent out - explanation and FAQs
Ahh.. this explains a lot! I had some serious discussions in here and did some testing myself signing up for a new Teams free only to verify what had happened and what it looked like from the license perspective. Thanks for this post Sam Cosby great info and much appreciated. cambob In_go_M8.6KViews1like0CommentsRe: Allow guests to join meeting whilst having Anonynous access turned off
Hello, I have a couple of questions trying to figure out the scenario here. - When you say "we have guest users" do you mean that they are already in your Azure AD with guest accounts? - Are any federated? (trusted with no guest account in your tenant?) That is, have you set up external access in Teams? If so, are you using allow or block lists? - Is this happening for only one user? - Have that user signed out from all Teams sessions and tried joining again? - Same behavior desktop and online? For the record you can have anonymous access turned off as guest users are part of your org. with guest accounts and federated users are considered authenticated by the trust.1.5KViews1like4CommentsRe: Why someone cannot see/chat after leaving the meeting?
Just set up a new meeting and verify. If it hasn’t been rolled out in your tenant the user only using a link will still access the content, incl. chat. For the record the feature has been highly requested to prevent non-endning access to the meeting chat for everyone. Hence why you only add those that should have countinued access to the chat to the meeting invite. I haven’t heard a thing about disabling this.105KViews1like19CommentsRe: Why someone cannot see/chat after leaving the meeting?
Have you even confirmed that it has actually been rolled out in your tenant with a test meeting? Your issue with that one external could be something else. Set up a meeting, copy and send only the link to a user outside of the original invite and verify the non-access when it ends.105KViews0likes21CommentsRe: External presenter can't join live-event after it started?
Paul McDevitt Hello, my intention with the previous reply was just a heads-up as it's rolling out now. When it comes to Teams Live Events I'm not the member who should reply to be honest. I know pretty much about Teams except Live Events. That's why I tried to ping Linus earlier but people are busy with their day-to-day jobs so sometimes you just have to go via the official channels to get in touch with the experts in the Microsoft support. About the webinars and the other associated features they are all scheduled for April/May! https://www.microsoft.com/en-ww/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft%20Teams%2CIn%20development%2CLaunched&searchterms=webinar8.6KViews0likes1CommentRe: External presenter can't join live-event after it started?
wo_kn Paul McDevitt Have you seen this addition? Just noticed it and thought about this conversation. Hello, OME works seamless with M365 email clients so you don't have to do anything to view the encrypted message. It's only with anonymous recipients that they'll need to view the content via the OME portal https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/ome?view=o365-worldwide You can always verify that it is set up correct https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/set-up-new-message-encryption-capabilities?view=o365-worldwide3.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Teams video lost after been recorded and the admins of teams in my faculty said that it has been rem
Hello, not just anyone can delete a recording https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/delete-a-meeting-recording-in-teams-b1ff8102-72da-4a6c-9979-d03a55d9b65d so I wouldn't raise it as a security issue. As you'll see it also involves two storage locations, still using the old storage location Stream or the new OneDrive/SharePoint as storage location where there are role-based permissions https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/tmr-meeting-recording-change#permissions-or-role-based-access In other words. Depending on type of recording either an owner, organizer, member who clicked on record (or an admin) have deleted it.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Cannot access Teams
Hello, will probably need more details here. But you have a work email for Teams use and your org. doesn’t use Teams or even have an org? Are the credentials provided to you from a client or are you a guest user with guest account? It sounds like the latter and that you're you switch between credentials and/or tenants? I would sign out from everything, clear cache, reboot and/or only use InPrivate mode here and perhaps reach out to the client you’re having issues accessing. Also, you cannot create a Teams free org. with business credentials. Adding this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/external-identities/faq#do-you-support-password-reset-for-azure-ad-b2b-collaboration-users GauriSD ThereseSolimeno1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Microsoft Teams does not reflect my new name in the other users of my team
Well, it's part of the technical world to reboot and sign out from devices and apps sometimes as with all other technical stuff out there. You just have to re-authenticate occasionally. And in this case one can only guess about the underlying environment as to why this is happening, such as hybrid or cloud-only, are all the others in the same org etc. etc. Many parameters to take into consideration. If you're not satisfied with the behavior have your IT department open up a support case with Microsoft to get it analyzed.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Powershell Team Duplication
Hi, can't say anything about it really just wanted to highlight that it's a preview/early release feature. Perhaps you should reach out to Microsoft for an official reply? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/create-template-from-existing-team1.8KViews0likes0Comments
