Use of email addresses in excel worksheet

One column of data in a worksheet is email addresses.  I do not want to send an email every time I go to a cell in that column.  How do I stop this from happening?

Select the column.

Right-click in the selection.

Select 'Remove Hyperlinks' from the context menu.

Thanks.  I learned two things.  How to stop going to email and what that pull down  is called.
