I am performing iterative calculations in excel and I am trying to find the equations that govern the calculations. I have searched through the excel documentation with no avail. The calculation I am doing is providing the correct answer, but the process in which it converges on the answer is very opaque. I would like to know what algorithm it uses, i.e. is this a Newton-Raphson type calculation? How does excel choose which cells to calculate first? Can I see the order of the calculation? etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
