Forcast ?

I'm a complete beginner with Excel. Can someone tell me if I can do this :   I want to insert a sequence of single digit numbers ranging from 0-9 into cells and one for each cell and they are selected randomly from a number generator, let's say about a hundred and thirty numbers. Can I have Excel "forcast" or guess the next number in the sequence based on the previous history of the digits pattern? Or would I have to have someone write a formula for me to do this?  Thanks for any help.

Hello @beb1959 ,

by definition, random numbers are random. If you fill 130 cells with random numbers between 1 and 9, there will be no pattern to establish which number comes next. The odds for each of the 9 digits are exactly equal. 

Excel does have a forecasting functionality on the Data ribbon, but if the data source is random numbers, that will not be able to provide much insight.
