excel split text into 1 column

Copper Contributor

how do i select a range of many words and sentences and split the text into each and every word and then sort all of them into 1 column and then count the frequency that each word is used like a glossary so that i may become familiar with large documents very fast like a bible concordance? God bless you

i started a new document for oklahoma protection of environment os27a

it is a much smaller example for convenience

i managed to get this far but my problem now is whenever i sort the COUNTIF column by largest to smallest it errors a prompt "you cant change part of an array"

ive tried changing it to text data or copying and pasting but it yields same

id like them sorted from largest to smallest so when i go to browse reading words only it gets more and more interesting. then i may do it letter by letter largest to smallest to keep things fresh.

not sure where i left off but i am very grateful to have made it this far

thanks

copy the unique column and paste it as value, then sort
