Color with Conditional formatting

Iron Contributor

Dear Experts,

                     I have a scenario , where in Cell R18, I can have value as 11/12 or 13, and

11 -> means in Row-17 0 will get highlighted,

12-> 0,1 will get highlighted and

13-> 0,1,3 will get highlighted, but how to use conditional formatting to use a color format to highlight those cells B17, C17,D17 once they are populated?

Please provide solution with both Format if R18 is a Text and R18 is a number.

Thanks in Advance,

Br,

Anupam

Solution

@anupambit1797

Select B17:D17 (or further to the right if you wish).

On the Home tab of the ribbon, click Conditional Formatting > New Rule...
Select 'Format only cells that contain'.
Leave the first drop down set to 'Cell Value'.
Select 'not equal to' from the second drop down.
In the box next to it, enter the formula

=""

Click Format...
Activate the Fill tab.
Select a fill color.
Click OK, then click OK again.
