Co-authoring excel stored on a network cifs/smb share

Copper Contributor

We're having issues with users who have excel saved on network cifs shares and recently migrated to office 365. Is there any documentation about using shared workbooks instead of co-authoring when files are hosted on smb/cifs shares? I'm still looking but haven't found anything yet.

Thanks for any info.

@Sergei Baklan   Thank you Sergei. Do you know if co-authoring is supported when hosting data on a cifs share? Thanks!

That depends on what to understand under co-authoring. For server share nothing changes from former time, just simultaneous editing with all the same limitations. Co-authoring in terms of Office365 doesn't work here.
