Since this isn't a real error, is there a way to hide it from the event log, since it's the only error I'm currently experiencing? I've tried everything I've found online, but nothing has worked. My system is Windows 11 25H2 and Office 365. Thank you.Solvedalpha454Mar 25, 2026Brass Contributor118Views0likes4CommentsNew File Explorer drop down when dragging files
Hello, Bellow I have attached an image of a new feature I've encountered recently. When I want to drag a file to a different tab (at the top of the screen), this menu appears. It is very annoying because it is in the way of what I'm trying to do. What is this called? Is there a way to disable it? Thank youSolvedTJtheHedgehogMar 20, 2026Copper Contributor466Views0likes4CommentsHow to fix "Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart" after system update
Hey everyone, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm working with an ASUS ROG Strix G15 running Windows 11 Pro , and it run into a frustrating issue. The system crashed with the "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart" stop error after installing the latest update. Since then, it was stuck in a boot loop—it shows the manufacturer logo, spins for a few seconds, then flashes the blue error screen again before restarting. I haven't installed any new hardware or major updates recently, so I'm not sure what triggered this. I already tried the basic steps I could think of. Boot into Safe Mode via spamming F8, but it won't get far enough to register. I also let it attempt automatic repair a few times, but it either fails or circles back to the same error. Has anyone else with this model (or similar) seen this behavior?SolvedAmbrosenbMar 20, 2026Iron Contributor9.2KViews0likes9Commentsdownload évaluation ltsc

Hello, I am experiencing a strange input/scrolling issue in Windows 11. The problem affects the Windows Settings app and the Quick Settings panel (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Sound). When I move the mouse over the volume slider in Quick Settings, the volume slowly goes down to 0 even though I am not scrolling. It behaves as if Windows is constantly receiving a scroll-down input. Scrolling in the Settings app is also inconsistent. When using the mouse wheel or dragging the scrollbar, the page sometimes moves only slightly and stops or jumps back upward. Important details: The problem happens only in Windows interface components. Scrolling works normally in other programs such as Steam, Spotify, and File Explorer. Two different mice were tested (wired and wireless) and the same behavior occurs. Mouse drivers were reinstalled. System repair commands (SFC and DISM) were run and found no issues. Because this only affects Windows UI elements, it appears to be related to how Windows 11 handles mouse input in the Settings/Quick Settings interface. Has anyone experienced the same issue or found a fix?Solvedx7077Mar 11, 2026Copper Contributor188Views0likes2CommentsAfter clearing Edge cache, I lost multiple system settings...
I cleared out the cache on my Edge browser and then restarted my computer. I do this occasionally, about monthly or so, previously without incident. This time, after restarting the computer, the video settings are off so that part of the screen is cut-off all around the monitor, amounting to about half the Task bar at bottom and about half the Title bar in windows (such as Word, Excel, Edge, etc.) ALSO, my audio settings are lost so that I have no sound; it did not recognize the speakers on my TV, and I hear nothing. I went to the Sound System settings and had it look for new audio devices. It found the TV (which has speakers) but it says, "Windows doesn't have a network profile for this device." but it was ALL working fine before the cache clear and restart. I then went and performed a Restore for earlier today (before the problem). That executed but there is no change. I'm out of ideas and would appreciate anything you might suggest.Solved105Views0likes3CommentsSpurious folder cannot be deleted on Windows 11: error 0x80004005
I have a spurious folder on a drive that refuses to be deleted (Windows 11 Pro 25H2, all current Windows Updates installed). I have tried everything, and it's still there. It started when I tried to create a compressed archive using 7-Zip. The archive was to be created in the parent folder of where the files were; so, I added the ..\ prefix to the file name in the 7-Zip dialog window, but I must have inadvertently typed it at the wrong place, with the prefix in the middle of the file name. So, I ended up with a subfolder called R.. (notice the two dots) in the folder where the original files were. This folder is empty and shows nothing unusual in the "Properties", but when I try to delete it, I get this error message (my Windows is not in English, so I'm translating, and the original English message may be a little different): An unexpected error is preventing you from deleting this folder. If you continue getting this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this issue. Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error As the description implies, this error code is generic and useless. I have searched it, and found a lot of totally different and unrelated issues, but none remotely similar to mine. The same error occurs when I try to delete the parent folder. I can "Try Again" (which only shows the same error message again forever) or cancel. The folder is on a secondary data SSD (not the system drive), formatted in NTFS and encrypted with BitLocker (like all my drives, by contractual demand from my clients). I have run chkdsk /f unmounting the drive (which the command required), and it found no errors. I have also scheduled a boot-time chkdsk of the drive, but although the countdown appeared, the check itself never happened, and Windows booted right away. Very strange! Since I suspect that the issue may have something to do with the two dots in the name, I have also tried to rename it. WIndows first shows me the usual warning when you try to change a file extension. After I confirm, it shows the following message (again, a translation): It was not possible to locate this item. It is no longer located in [parent_folder_path]. Check the item location and try again. I took full ownership of the parent folder with total control to all subfolders and explicitly replaced the permissions in all of them. It didn't work. I tried erasing both the rogue folder and its parent folder with a secure-erase utility, and it didn't delete them either. Other than this stubborn immortal folder, the drive is working normally. I can even create a new folder in the same parent folder as the rogue one, and then I can delete it normally. What else can I do? Thank you very much for any help.SolvedgoytabrMar 05, 2026Brass Contributor118Views0likes1Comment
