I’ve been trying to switch boot drives for almost a week. My Windows 11 PC is currently stuck only booting into bios. I reset cmos. Adjusting all settings before and after. Nothing is working. When inserting the windows installer usb that worked just a couple days ago, still nothing. Would it help if I wiped the new nvme I’ve been trying to set up (at multiple points seemed like I had successfully set up). I’m genuinely at a complete loss here. Please help me. If I do a secure erase of windows and everything on the drive will that potentially allow me to reinstall windows or will it make my problem worse25Views0likes1CommentAnyone knows what causes the Microsoft .NET Framework exception?
It appears pretty frequently and usually when my PC is idle for a few minutes. I've tried reinstalling the net frameworks and couple other things like scanning for integrity issues, but nothing seems to help. Using Windows 11 (had the same issue on Windows 10 so I thought updating would fix it.) I don't know if its a separate issue but I'm also facing a separate issue regarding blue screens due to kernel power failure. It could happen up to multiple times a week. Just wondering if the below event viewer numbers are of concern. Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor, 4201 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s) PSU: MSI MAG A850GL GPU: 4080s Zotac Trinity Ram: 32gb Neo Forza Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1tb72Views0likes1CommentWindows Activation problem
Hello, Since 2012, I've had a Windows "Retail" activation key that I transfer from one PC to another without any problems. When I bought my current PC with Windows 11, I had no issues activating it with this key. Due to a problem, I had to reinstall Windows 11. Unfortunately, this key is no longer accepted: when I enter it, I get this message: "The product key you entered doesn't work. Check it, and then try again or enter another one. (0x80041014)" Thank you for your help. Sincerely54Views1like1CommentHow to Setting Up Wi-Fi On Windows 11
I need help learning how to set up a Wi-Fi connection on my Windows 11 computer. I am looking for a clear, step-by-step explanation that covers opening the network settings, finding available wireless networks, and successfully connecting to my home Wi-Fi for the first time or after a reset.44Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 S mode av updates
Father has Windows 11 in S mode. When installing Security Intelligence update for Microsoft Defender gets "error encountered", which then changes to "completed". Update history states "successfully installed" on related entry. How can something be successfully installed if an error occurred during the install - that does not make sense. Am obviously nervous now that the av is not being updated properly. Any suggestions?47Views0likes1CommentNetwork connection post router firmware upgrade
I'm about to upgrade my asus AX-5400 to the latest version (Aug.2025.) I need to perform a hard reset on the unit (lost the login pwrd. & username.) My question: will my current functional network connection continue to function after the update? (I'm curious if the upgrade requires any manual adjustments in Windows networking or if any adjustments are performed automatically by Windows (11). My thanks in advance24Views0likes0CommentsNew Window computer
Usually whenever I start up my Windows 11 PC, I click on opera gx on my task bar and it usually opens a window containing my current tabs and a few minutes later a new window would come up, but recently the ability for a new window to launch atumatically doesn't happen any more, is there a way to get the function back? I just like the convenience of a new window being there for me to use.53Views0likes1CommentHow to register old PC w/new owner on MS acct, install software from new owner's MS acct
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: I have an old but high end with 17-inch screen (HP) laptop which still runs Win11 25H2 very well. It has a legally purchased Office 2019 Home & Student Ed. installed and registered officially to my Microsoft user account. For the purposes of this question, let’s call this setup DT-1 (the 17” screen HP laptop) and the Microsoft Account User-1 where it is officially registered with Office 2019. My friend is running Win11 on a Microsoft Surface laptop with Office 202x – legally purchased and officially registered. For the purposes of this question, let’s refer to this second setup (Surface laptop) and MS user account as DT-2 and User-2 respectively. I am retiring DT-1 as the old owner and am giving it to User-2 so he can have a larger screen size and still run the same Office software (mostly WORD and PPOINT). QUESTIONS: Q1 – When I give DT-1 to my friend can he (should he) register DT-1 to Microsoft Account as the new owner – using his existing User-2 MS Account -- and continue to use the Office 2019 software on it? If so, what procedure(s) must he perform to do this properly and legally (as new owner but same device). Do I (the old owner) have to “Remove device” DT-1 first from my MS Account User-1 BEFORE the new owner can “re-register” it to his MS Account User-2? What is the proper sequence of actions to do this? Kindly provide specifics (what program to run, and from where, etc.) Q2 – After DT-1 is “Removed” from MS Account User-1 and “re-registered” under MS account User-2, can Office 202x be installed on DT1? The total number of devices that installed Office 202x under User-2 account is only one: the Microsoft Surface laptop. The intent is to stop using Office 2019 (from old owner) and start using Office 202x (with new owner). The new owner – User-2 – has purchased a legal copy of Office 202x on DT-2. What are the steps, procedurally to perform in order to achieve the 3 actions described above? Would be grateful for any tips and guidance. Thanks in advance.65Views0likes2CommentsWhat is the best PC backup software for Windows 11/10?
Hi everyone, hope to tap into the collective wisdom here. I've put off a proper backup solution for my Windows 11 machine, and I know I play with fire. Every "top 10" list feels like an ad, and I just want real-user opinions. I’m not a pro, so something reliable and user-friendly is key. I look for something that can handle both a solid system image (for a full disaster recovery) and regular file backups. Free is great, but I’m willing to pay a reasonable one-time fee for a "set it and forget it" tool that just works. What is the best PC backup software for Windows in 2026? Any horror stories to avoid? Major thanks for any help you can offer.7KViews3likes8Comments
