Today, I have updated my HP Elite X2 G4 with May 2026 Tuesday update KB5089549 and several other updates. The update fail, when restarted, an error dialog read Thing does not go as expected, and it roll back my system. After restart, I attempt to update again and it fail with the same reason. So I proceed to manual update by downloading update from Mic4osoft Update Catalog. The update went fine until I restart my system. There is an error dialog stated that my system has a problem, windows 11 attempt to repair my system and fail. This make my system unbootable. Microsoft, Windows 11 is getting worst and worst. Updating is a real nightmare. It take forever and 5his time, may be it’s time for me to switch to Mac1.8KViews1like8CommentsIssue With Opening Browsers After Windows Update
Update was done on Monday. Since then, we are unable to go to certain websites, we get an ERROR 505 or just a blank, white page while it shows the page is loading, it just never does load. I tried to uninstall the update to go back to normal, but Windows now says there are no updates to uninstall. I have gotten an IT guy involved and he tried to solve it as well but he says it must be a bug in the Windows update as everything was fine until the update happened. I have tried the following...note that I also restarted the computer after each attempt to fix this issue: Uninstall the updates (cannot uninstall them though) ran my antivirus ran the computer in safe mode cleaned out the cache, browsing history, downloads and cookies uninstalled firefox and google chrome then reinstalled them troubleshoot Windows troubleshoot Microsfot Exchange modify/fix Microsoft Exchange tested internet connection tested that the websites were not down or having issues (they were not) tested the websites on different computers (they are all on Windows 11 - no issues) Nothing has worked. Still error 505 or just a blank page. the system is a Windows 11 The other two computers are fine (we did not update them). HELP!7Views0likes0CommentsASUS Update Check Removal Tool

When I try and do the feature upgrade to 24H2 2026-05 on a Windows 10 era Dell PC (let's not get ahead of ourselves with 25H2!) the upgrade fails and rolls back. setupdiag points to Error: 0xc1900101-0x40017 SetupDiag reports rollback failure found. Last Phase = Post First Boot Last Operation = Ensure suspended services are stopped Error = 0xC1900101-0x40017 and googling suggests this is likely down to a driver. The PC in question has some realtek drivers which are seen as problematic but it is not clear what the resolution is there. How can I diagnose WHICH service or driver is causing the problem? Thank you Mark50Views0likes3CommentsDisplay driver crash to black screen
I just started having this issue within the last few weeks. A friend of mine is reporting similar issues using the 3D Blender app that started around the same timeframe. System works fine on most applications for hours. But select 3D applications cause inconsistent display driver crashing. Screen goes to black with no signal from the display port. Audio still runs in the background. Cannot recover via ALT+TAB, task manager, or WIN+CTRL+SHIFT+B. Have to power off the machine to have a chance to recover. What's odd is that a hard restart of the computer only occasionally resolves the issue. Sometimes the display driver never recovers on reboot. Sometimes it crashes to black during the display of the Windows sign in screen. Sometimes it recovers completely. In the worst case, I couldn't see the BIOS boot but could still hear the windows bootup chimes. So the system was booting up to the windows sign in screen. I disconnected the NVIDIA card and tried the integrated graphics port with the same result. After many restarts it recovered "magically" back to working with the NVIDIA card. Once the issue is recovered then the system is stable until I try one of the offending apps again. I've experienced this with Mechanicus II, Crimson Desert (played 100+ hrs before this issue started), Kingdom Come Deliverance II. Have experienced the crash anywhere between the initial splash screen, in ui menus, and during 3d play. Other 3d games still work. In terms of troubleshooting, I've completely uninstalled (using DDU) and reinstalled the GeForce driver many times, including trying at least 4 distinct version from April and May of 2026. Stress testing the graphics card (run NVIDIA optimizer) runs fine, no temp or voltage issues. Other apps work indefinitely. So I don't think it's a hardware issue. No reported issues on dxdiag. My best guess is a Windows<>GeForce Driver bug. Possibly related to Windows update 2026-05 .NET Framework Security Update (KB5087051). At least that matches the timing of when I started having the issue. I only changed driver versions after I started experiencing the issue. This sounds like a similar issue though it's a different update # -- https://www.pcworld.com/article/3137675/windows-11s-april-update-is-now-causing-pc-crashes-and-visual-glitches.html Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 26200) (26100.ge_release.240331-1435) System Model: Z590 AORUS PRO AX Card name: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 308037Views0likes1CommentFeedback on Windows 11
I've been a Windows customer since the beginning. I was doing computing back on the TSR-80, when we still saved information on audio tape. However, with the changes in the last few versions of Windows; I feel I can on longer use a Windows product. I've been using a Windows 11 system for several months now, and I've hated every time I had to use it. With the increase in non-optional "optional" and non-removable features; I've decided that it's time to move onto a Linux based system. Sincerely, a former Microsoft customer.14KViews19likes57Comments
