Windows 11 recovery tool not working. I need to create a bootable repair usb
My Windows 11 PC got blue screen of death frequently after installing the latest update. I tried booting in the advance options to repair the system but this did not work. Now, I can get into the desktop so I need a repair tool to help me out.
Is there any other Windows 11 recovery tool I can use to create bootable Windows 11 repair USB? I don't want to make a clean install as there are a few important files saved on the desktop.

I’ve been in that boat myself — when Windows 11 recovery tools act up or just don’t do the trick, trying to keep Windows 10 going by yourself can be a bit risky. Here’s the lowdown from my own experience:
- If you’re not super careful and you’re messing around with system files or doing manual installs, you could accidentally wipe out important stuff. Always back up your files first, like, really back them up.
- Messing with system recovery or installing Windows 10 manually can sometimes lead to a state where Windows won’t boot at all. It’s not common if you’re careful, but it happens.
- If you’re trying to bypass official tools or use unofficial downloads, you might end up with malware or compromised files. Always get your ISO or installation media from official sources.
- Sometimes, downgrading or installing an older OS can cause driver or hardware issues, especially if your PC was optimized for Windows 11.
If the Windows 11 recovery tool isn’t working, I’d first try other official methods—like creating a bootable Windows 10 USB from Microsoft’s site, or using the media creation tool to create bootable Windows 11 repair USB. If you’re not super tech-savvy, it might be worth hitting up a pro or asking in forums to get a method of creating bootable Windows 11 repair USB.

Windows 11 recovery tool is not working from time to time. I had the same issue in the past. However, you can use Macrium Reflect Free to create a bootable windows 11 repair usb.
Steps 1: Download Macrium Reflect Free from its website.
Steps 2: Install and launch it.
Steps 3: Go to the “Other Tasks” > “Create Rescue Media”.
Steps 4: Choose USB drive, then follow prompts to build the rescue disk.
Steps 5: Once done, boot from the USB on your non-working PC.
Steps 6: You can now restore a system image or repair boot issues.
After creating Windows 11 bootable rescue disk, you may need to change the boot order in BIOS/UEFI to boot from USB.
Always back up data before attempting any recovery or reinstall.
