My Microsoft WebStore will not install anything. Everything is either in queue or not working.
I noticed it when I went to try and download MineCraft. Nothing will download, and what is not in queue just says "something went wrong." The WindowsAppRuntime.2 is particularly concerning. I have tried clearing the cache, resetting network settings, the works. I haven't messed with anything that can be permanent, though. This might be nothing, but my settings also won't finish the update scan. I am pretty sure I am up to date, but when I go to check for updates, it just keeps loading and loading.

The Windows Update scan getting stuck is an important clue. This may be a shared Windows update/download problem rather than Minecraft alone. WindowsAppRuntime is a dependency used by apps; seeing it in the queue isn’t itself a sign of anything harmful.
Since you’ve already cleared the Store cache, try this next:
- Cancel the queued downloads where possible, close Microsoft Store, and restart the PC.
- Run the Windows Update troubleshooter under Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- If Windows Update still hangs, open Terminal as administrator and run these commands one at a time:DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth sfc /scannowLet each finish. If DISM fails, note its error code—it may be unable to obtain repair files while Windows Update is having trouble.
- Restart, check Windows Update again, then try installing one small Store app before retrying Minecraft.
If downloads still fail, expand See details on a failed Store item and copy the error code. That, together with any DISM error, is much more useful than “something went wrong.”
Don’t manually delete WindowsAppRuntime or take ownership of the WindowsApps folder. That can break other apps without fixing the download queue.
