Cross Device Platform Question
Maybe I am not understanding what this is. Is this meant to link to a windows phone? Is anyone using a windows phone anymore? Why is this running? Why can't I turn it off easy? I don't have windows anywhere but here... barley. I certainly don't need a cross platform anything. At first I thought this had something to do with me dual booting the machine with Linux, but I noticed it running on my friends computer who does not have Linux. So what exactly is it? Does anyone know? Can someone explain it to me? and explain why I have to have it running?

But I already have something for PDF's, and I shut it off, but crossdeviceresume now appears. Why can't we just have our computers back? I am getting sick and tired of taking folders away from "Trusted Installer" and "System" and anything else Windows decides I don't need to access on my own computer. It is like having a safe in your house, that you don't know the combo to, for your neighbor down the street to put his stuff in. It makes no sense. I have noticed through the years how we have slowly started to lose easy access to our own computers. I am just waiting for the day that we have no access, can't bypass the microsoft account for a local account, can't take off anything, and it won't work unless it is connected to the internet.

Because Microsoft has integrated it into Windows as a system component. It often starts with Windows to be ready for any cross-device features you might use, even if you never actually do.
