Crews in Planner in Planner/Project accelerator
I am trying to have a task in Planner/Project accelerator assigned to a crew. I would like the crew to be multiple people lets say 3 people. Can I then have the task assigned to this crew resource and calculate the effort X3?Solved70Views1like4CommentsRow height issue
Hello, I have been facing recently issue with automatic row adjustment (Microsoft® Project 2016 MSO (Version 2505 Build 16.0.18827.20102) 64-bit): anytime I make any change on any of the rows, Project automatically changes the heigh of some of the rows into random height. Selecting/unselecting Wrap Text does not help - when clicking the Wrap text, the rows are readjusted to single line, but when I make another change in Gant (eg update % Completion), the rows height changes again. So basically after every change in gant, I need to select or unselect Wrap Text (the same result ) to get back single line per row view. I went throught the forum and tried advices: Bar Styles - check all on row 1, Bar Styles - bars without text, Bars/Layout - decrease the bar heigh. Nothing helped so far. Can anobody help, or is it a SW bug?Solved189Views0likes6CommentsExporting resources to excel to create histogram
Hi I'm a scheduler who normally uses P6 (although I have used MS Project a little in the past!) I'm working on a tender schedule which has a stipulation to be presented in MS Project... all good so far, schedule built looks good, hits the key dates etc and now I've loaded it out with construction resources (masons/roofers/electricians etc), one of the tender deliverables is to present a resource histogram (showing numbers of operatives/day) of the project resource. I'm looking to export the project resources to excel to produce the histogram and this is where the issue is! The options as I see it are - Export a visual report - I exported a time-phase resource usage report but then hit a brick wall when I tried to manipulate the pivot table data to add a calculated field to convert the hours into a resource headcount as project export to Excel using OLAP cube data which isn't modifiable! Resource Usage View copy & paste - next I tried to straight up copy & paste the raw data from the Resource Usage view into excel to create my own pivot table but unfortunately left clicking to highlight all the date just didn't seem to work - I could highlight and copy the left hand table but the time phase data on the right hand side seems un-copyable, if I highlight it I don't get any copy option on the left click! Export to Excel - next I tried to export the raw data in xlsx format via File/Export/Save Project as File but then am unsure of which fields to set up when mapping to get the resources time phased, I just seem to be able to export the tabular info - Lastly I created a custom report using the in-built graphing tool in Project to create the histogram but this gives a couple of issues - the resource stats on the y-axis are in hours (obviously) with no way of converting to days and more importantly it is in Project and not in Excel as stipulated in the tender requirements! Am I missing something fundamental with this/is it possible? Any help would be gratefulSolved160Views0likes5CommentsExporting resources to Excel

I have two separate projects that were created in PFTW. One of them I can still make and promote subtasks (not grayed out) and the other project I was able to make and promote subtasks but now both options are grayed out. I have tried to do this from Project Accelerator, PFTW, and Planner and cannot do it from any of the apps. This is the image from the Planner access for the WBS without the functionality accessible: Here's a screenshot from the WBS where I can access: I am not the only one with this issue and we seem to have the correct licensing as we can access the functionality in some projects but have lost it in others. Any assistance troubleshooting and resolving this is greatly appreciSolved397Views0likes4Commentsautomatic determination of the duration of a task
Dear Community, I can't find a solution for these two challenges in MS Project, even if I know to had already solved it once... I'd like to link tasks with each other multiple times, so that the duration of the "driven" task is determined automatically. 2 use cases: 1. floating task copy Task A is planned for 4 weeks duration. Task B is linked to task A (SS and FF), so that the duration (including start/end dates) of task B is changing automatically, if the duration of task A is changing. This results into error messages, since a task can be linked to another task only once. 2. automatic dtermination of duration Task A and Task B are linked to each other (FS). Task C is linked to Task A (SS) and to Task B (FF). Duration shall be determined from duration aof Task A + Task B. This works, but the duration of Task C is not calculated automatically (see sketch). Any idea how to solve this? Premium Office 365 for Workplace and Project is available under the Teams channel. I have my current project ready for future projects, and have been trying to create a template, but I could not find the option to save the existing project file structure only. Even though, I save as a copy this with a different name, the copied file works as the original file. I got the same damage on my original Project file after some cleanup in the copied file. There is no UNDO option. I have looked up this Help section about it, but it says I could find a Save As under File, but my Project file under Teams Channel does not have this function. As you see above, there is no option like I guess the Desktop version might have. Even in my Web version does not show File tab. Please advise. Thank you.Solved121Views0likes3CommentsProject Online - saved location
Hi, When I create a Teams, it basically creates a SharePoint site in the background. Is the same concept applied when I create a Project Online, that creates a SharePoint in the background? if yes, How can I find the SharePoint site that is tied my Project? (I only have a link to the Project) If no, Is it possible to manually link the project online to a SharePoint site? and how can I find the site(s) where the Project Online is linked.Solved160Views0likes1CommentProject for the Web -- How to link tasks between different projects ?
Online Beginner's Question here: I'm managing a team of 7 project managers, each of them managing on average 5 simple projects with max 12 tasks each. Some of these projects have tasks interdependencies between them (or common milestones). Ideally I would like to have an overall project for myself (program/portfolio level) where I can see the timeline, shared resources and dependencies inside each project and between projects, and edit those dependencies and shared resources availabilities. Also, each project manager would have its own view of its own projects, possibly not overloaded with the project views from the other project managers. So, in a nutshell, I'd like to organise all those projects with two levels of nesting (one for me, overall, and one per project manager for their own projects). Is this possible with Project for the Web (which seems to be the Microsoft Project edition that Microsoft is most investing in) ? Thanks for your advice and guidance !Solved1.1KViews0likes11CommentsMissing Project Detail Page for one of my PWA projects
Hi, I have a custom PDP page for allowing my project managers to enter a status update for their projects. One of my project managers has reported that the Status Update link is missing from the side menu for one of his projects. The link is visible for his other projects and all other projects on the site. Anyone ever experience this and know how I can get the link back?Solved83Views0likes1CommentProject for web - calendar
Hi, on Project for web i've different plan with same/different resource. I've created a "calendar resource" with its own work calendar, then i'm using this resource as calendar template for all my plan. As i found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/project-for-the-web/create-and-apply-a-work-calendar Now i've this problem: resource A that need to have different calendar for each plan. So for example: resource A works on 01/15 in plan A resource A not works on 01/15 in plan B Is it possibile to achieve? How can i do that if my resource is the same? So same calendar? Can i create custom calendar for each plan but also for each resource in it? Thanks!Solved118Views0likes3CommentsProject for web generic resources not bookable
Hi, on Project for Web i've created some generic resources as you can see: Each of it with a hours calendar and bookable. Then i've added each resource in its own plan, for example: Pianificazione UDVC is my plan with my generic reource "Generica UDVC" The issue is that if i try to assign a task i can only find "Member of team x" instead of "Generica UDVC" , why that name instead of the name that i wrote? Also in some other plan i can't see any new bookable resource despite i can see the generic one from the "team" tab in Project admin portal. Why? Thanks!Solved107Views0likes2CommentsAssign Resources with Units = 50%

Desired Outcome: the "Task 1" with Duration: 1 day (i.e. 8 hours) should finish on "06/01/2025" due to "Resource 1" has "Resource Availability" as detailed above (Available From: 03/01/2025 Available To: 06/01/2025 Units: 50%).
