Account Recovery Request
I've been trying to recover my hotmail.com email address. I was able to reset the password using my mobile number. But when I sign in again, it is blocked again. When I try to recover using my mobile number: (Try another verification method. That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method.) I submitted 3 recovery forms already but were unsuccessful. My hotmail.com account is only being used as a receiving email address of important bank emails. I don't remember sending any email. Seriously, with Full Screen Messages
Stopped using Outlook a year ago over the fact that when you click on a message it only opens about a quarter of the screen. Thought by now it would be fixed. What gives? Don't want to go back to old Outlook on PC as it's slow and hangs in the background and you have to kill it in Task Manager all the time. Any fixes for getting messages to open full screen? Appreciate any ideas and thoughts.
My Outlook classic is not working properly
Earlier this year I had MS Outlook classic set up -after installing Office 365 for two mail accounts: a) BT internet and b) G-mail and an Exchange account. Presently the calendar is synchronized via this Outlook Exchange acct. Now the severe problems which now only occur on my new Dell Optiplex Deskpro and NOT on my new Dell Inspiron notebook: When I minimize Outlook to run in the background I am unable to get it back on the screen and access it. When then running the Task Manager it is not visible as running. When then trying to restart the computer it states that Outlook is still running!?!? As from today I am unable to delete items through clicking the delete bin button, which – by the way – appears in red!? Also: Outlook also produces a large array of Synch errors in both accounts: Why – that can’t be right. A brief proper function of Outlook can only be achieved by 1. Repairing both accounts and then2. I had a user to ask about how to update Outlook's Custom Dictionary. She had noticed that many of her Classic Outlook brand terms and acronyms were missing in New Outlook. You may not realize that New Outlook uses RoamingCustom.dic file and has its own custom dictionary. This file is stored in the cloud. Classic Outlook uses Custom.dic file and is saved on your local computer. Both dictionaries can be updated through Microsoft Word. This is the error message I get, it's in Swedish but it says that the verification method doesn't work at the moment. Has anyone else gotten this issue? What's the solution for it? I don't have an alternativ mail to use for getting the verification code and any manual account reset hasn't worked out either.
Cannot unlock my Microsoft account, SMS verification not working
Hi, I need help with a blocked Microsoft account. When I try to sign in, the system asks for my phone number to unblock the account. The first SMS took too long to arrive and when I tried again I received an error message and cannot retry. I tried another phone number but I did not receive any SMS and now I cannot use my original number again. I tried all support options through https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact . I changed my password twice, completed the account recovery form, changed the password again, cleared cache, switched networks, changed browsers and used incognito mode. Nothing worked. When I enter my main number, it shows “Something went wrong” and does not go to the next step. When I use another number, I receive the “Try another verification method” error, even though no other method is available. My account is still logged in on my phone, but I cannot unlock it on the web or on other devices. I have had this account for more than 10 years and everything is linked to it. I even created another email to contact Microsoft Support, but it always redirects me to the same link and I cannot open an actual support ticket. Could someone from Microsoft please help me unblock my account or escalate this issue? I can provide any additional verification if needed. I'm trying to create GPO for Outlook to enable AutoArchive for all our users to delete Outlook messages older than x months. I've created the GPO and allocated it. Outlook for the affected users appears to show the correct AutoArchive settings for each folder. The AutoArchive prompt appears and runs when expected. The majority of folder's messages older the x months disappear with the exception of the 'Deleted Items' folder. No messages removed from there. Why is this? I have no control over the server so can't set up deletion from that end. I've been told nothing on the server is stopping the Deleted Items from being removed. Windows 11 Education 24H2, Outlook from Office LTSC Pro Plus 2024. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks.
COLUMNS IN OUTLOOK DOESNT STAY CONSTANT
When searching for an email, ''all columns'' are shown...and one has to ''delete'' 50% of the columns?...and ''add'' the ''TO" column (which I regard to be the most important)? How can i set my colums to the normal list of ''attachment, from to subject, date and size'' only? The multiple ''other columnsare useless to me...especially when ''searching'' for a particular email. Please help with info on how to ''stabilize'' my column selection?
Locked out of account
Hi, I was trying to redeem an Xbox gift voucher when I got locked out of my account, I followed the steps for “ Enter your phone number, and we'll send you a security code “ and that worked the first time. When I tried again with the gift voucher I was locked out again. Now I’m getting the Try another verification method but there isn’t another option for me to select. I tried to contact support and they said 1-3 weeks for a reply, then I got an email and it said 5 days. Surely I can’t expect to be locked out of my account for 5 days? I have my email and password and access to my backup email but can’t login? Can someone please help. Thanks, CormacChanging fonts in Outlook - drafting messages
Recently I have found that Outlook changes the font on my. I have all my preferred fonts described in Options, Stationery and Fonts, but Outlook ignores this sometimes. Example from today: I am writing an email in my standard font which is Calibri 11pt. I place my cursor at the start of the email to insert a new line, and the font for this new line is Aptos 12pt. Aptos 12pt doesn't feature at all in my stationery settings... The same thing often happens when pasting into an email - even when I paste text only (which should have no format attached and therefore should use the existing format of the line I'm on...
Outlook for Mac not showing attachments in a separate window
When composing an email in Outlook, all added attachments are visible in the main interface. However, once I pop out the message into a separate window, the attachment section becomes blank, and I can no longer see the files I’ve attached. I HATE setting up a new computer!!! With that in mind, I'm struggling to establish contacts/email address as I'd had on my old computer's Outlook 365. Both new and old computer (no longer available) are/were using the latest 365 Office software. What I am trying to replicate is the ability to begin typing a person email address in the TO area, and having suggestions appear. NOTE: I believe that Outlook somehow records addresses used, and these may be part of what drives Outlook to make "suggestions". Though obliviously not all used email addresses appear as a "contact", I'd love to have this data available for use in "suggestions"....but on to my initial issue... I found some "contacts" files which, despite my low tech abilities, I managed to import into my new computer's Outlook (see attached photo). However, I now have three (3) "contact" lists as shown, with only the second and third list containing any entries.....and those entries, while having some similarities, are different. Ideally, I'd like to have the contents of the second and third list combined, and be available within the first list. BTW, when I create a new email, I get no suggestions presented from either of the two lists which contain entries.....I get nothing! MANY thanks in advance!!! On my Outlook 2021 for Windows 11, I have to switch folders to see what new e-mail just came in, if any. For example, I launch Outlook, it connects and does the IMAP sync. The Inbox shows no new e-mail. So, to see if I really do have new, unread email, I have to go to any other folder, wait a second or two for the IMAP sync to finish, then go back to the Inbox. If there are new messages, only after doing that will I see them. Background info: New computer, bought May 2025 because old box couldn't be updated to Windows 11. I don't remember this problem on the old computer. I think it started after I loaded everything on the new computer. A month or so ago, I had an unrelated problem that led me to totally wipe Windows and start over from the Dell image. Reloaded Office 2021 (I believe it is the standalone version, not M365) and this problem continued. There are two e-mail accounts in Outlook, but only one is affected. Both use IMAP. Yahoo.com works just fine. It is Spectrum.net that is having this problem. Anyone have any ideas where to start? And yes, I did verify the Spectrum IMAP settings; I can get and send email just fine. The problem is, new e-mail doesn't display unless I do the dance decribed above.
